For Ge Gas Range Spark Module (Part Number: OEM17998356)

Hoky for Model Number GE CGS980SEM3SS

I replaced the spark module on my GE CGS980SEM3SS stove with the new replacement part WB13X26360 but one of the burners does not spark. I switched the wires and could change which burner would not spark, so it is not an issue with the burner. Is the spark module defective ? Also there does not seem to be a lead where the ground is indicated next to the input leads. The part comes with a grounding cable, but there is no where to attach it. It doesn't go in #6 does it ? I believe that is an output.

Hello Hoky, yes, the green ground wire is connected to output terminal #6 and the other end to chassis ground.

Stacey, based on the description of the problem, you may have a park module that is not working properly.

Stephen for Model Number JEB908BEK5BB

I purchased a spark module WB13K10019 and recieved module WB13X26360. Reading the instruction sheet this is the new replacement part. The parts are configured completedly different, and the instuction page is very vague. Listing only input and output cables is troubling to me, since there are 5 burner to ignite and there are no port numbers on the oem part like the new one has. I tried your web page for instruction and I find the video ot replace the OEM WB13K10019 I need. Not the WB13K10019 to WB13X26360 conversion. Do you have a better detailed instruction sheet for this and possibily in larger print font. Increasing the screen font size on you site distorts the photo so bad that you can't make out the photo. Or do you have the OEM part WB13K10019 I can purchase? Thanks I

Stephen, Unfortunately we do not have any other instruction sheet from what you have but starting next to the input the right front will go to the first terminal, right next to it would be the right rear, then the center across from it and then the left front and rear on the last other 2 that are across from it with the ground wire going to the farthest terminal from the input.

Joseph, If you haven't yet, check and make sure the igniter, burner base and burner cap and area is clean and free of any spillage or corrosion, Look closely at the igniter and check it for any cracks nicks or chips in the porcelain insulator. Then raise the cooktop and check the ignition wire to make sure it's not damaged, frayed or pinched to the metal frame. If all's OK, then replace the spark module.

Jeff, If you replaced the spark module already then the issue will most likely be the spark switch harness and you will want to replace the harness.

Myron, You can disconnect the violet wire from the spark module to keep it from clicking.

Bert for Model Number GE Cafe stove (stainless, not sure of model no.)

Hi, My stove does not ignite although I can hear clicking sound and see a spark on the igniter. I checked on the small hole above the igniter that allows the gas to pass thru, and it's not clogged. I even bought a new igniter on one of the burners and still didn't help, the spark seems like not enough to cause an ignition. There is also no problem with the gas supply. Right now, we are manually lighting the burner every time we use it. Thanks.

Robert, If you check at the oven safety valve WB21K10160 for the upper oven and test for 3.2 to 3.6 vac when the oven is turned on. If there is no voltage then check to see if the igniters are glowing. If they are but not proper voltage then the igniters would be the issue. If they are not glowing then test for 120 vac to the igniter. If there is 120 vac then the igniters are bad and if there is not 120 vac then the control board on the unit is defective and would need to be replaced.

Charles, Unfortunately we do not have a image for this part but the part is a spark module 6+0 and just means that it can be used for up to 6 burners. Since yours is only 5 burner this will work for your unit.

Hello Rubin, If no sparking or clicking sounds are detected, the issue is more likely to be the start switch harness which activates the spark module. The model number you provided is not coming up as a valid model number so we need you to please verify and post the model number from the units' I.D. tag so we can look up the correct replacement parts for your unit. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter.
