Ruth P April 22, 2014 for Model Number JGB605SET1S I recently asked you for help diagnosing an issue with my range where the igniter constantly clicks when the stove is plugged in. Even when all the burners on low or entirely off, the igniter clicks. You diagnosed the issue as a spark module AP4484165-part number. I tried replacing the spark module, the stove still clicks. I alternately unplugged each wire leading to the spark module thinking maybe one of these wires was causing the issue. It still clicked (not sure what the purple and white wires were so I didn't unplug them). Although my stove is pretty new and very clean, I cleaned everything again and put the old spark module back in. So now I'm back to square one, any other ideas?
1 Answer Hello Ruth. It is not the spark module. It is the spark switches WB24K10077 that is bad on the unit. Read More...
Ruth April 14, 2014 for Model Number JGB605SET1S I have an Adora Gas 5 burner range. Everything worked well until the first time I tried to use the center burner. Now the igniter will not stop clicking...even when everything is off. I cleaned every igniter and every igniter hole thoroughly. Still clicks. I opened the back of the stove where the wiring harness is and alternately unplugged each burner and clicking continues. Finally, I unplugged the stove and have been lighting the burners by hand for a few months now and everything seems to work fine. (The center burner works OK but doesn't have an even flame.) Since I'm afraid to light the oven by hand, I haven't been able to bake. Can you help diagnosis???
1 Answer Ruth, Based on the information it sounds as though the issue may be in the ignition switch for the center burner. You will want to access the control valves by removing the control panel. Once removed you will then need to do a continuity test of the ignition switch with the burner in the off position and see if there is continuity. Would be good to check all of them. If there is any continuity on any of them then the switch is bad and would need to be replaced. If the switches show that they are good then the spark module would be the issue. Read More...
Harry January 29, 2014 for Model Number Jgbp86wel1ww We thought we had a gas leak,PGE came out and we were told we need a gas pressure regulator. What cost? The problem is when we turn on the oven the gas does not come on right away.
1 Answer Hello Harry. The regulator is part of the gas valve assembly WB19K10043 on the unit. Read More...
1 Answer Hello Frank. If none of the igniters are working, you may need to order and replace the spark module on the unit. You need to check and see if there is power to it and if so, replace the module on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Jeff September 19, 2012 for Model Number jgbs09peh3ww When I light the stove top it does not light, but I can light it with a lighter. Jeff
1 Answer Hello Jeff, This will either be the start switch harness connection to the spark module or the spark module WB13X26360. Be sure to verify connections and grounds before ordering parts. Read More...
Jeff July 11, 2012 for Model Number CGS980SEM3SS Hello, thanks for your previous response. To clarify, the top of the range does not need to be removed or lifted? The range just needs to be pulled out of its counter niche to access the back? If so, are there any tricks to slide the range out? Thanks, Jeff.
1 Answer Hello Jeff. Yes, that is correct on accessing the spark module WB13X26360 for the model number you provided. Read More...
Jeff July 09, 2012 for Model Number CGS980SEM3SS Hello, can you provide instructions for installing this spark module? I believe the range top needs to be lifted up to access the spark module. What is the process for this? Any other steps or issues to be aware of?
1 Answer Hello Jeff. The spark module WB13X26360 is located on the back of the range. The module is mounted by two tabs which snap into corresponding slots. To remove the module from its mounting, use a small, flat bladed screwdriver to bend the mounting tab toward the module body, freeing the tabs from their slots. Read More...
