Robert December 30, 2019 for Model Number PEB1590DM2WW What is the bottom switch part number for this GE Microwave? No noise, doesn't turn and doesn't heat. Controls, timer light all work or light up .
Cal January 22, 2019 for Model Number PEB1590SM2SS Power starts when the door is opened. I want to replace the switches in control panel but I can't get it off. All the trim panels are off and visible screws removed. I tried to lift the panel to remove it but it will not budge. Any ideas? Thanks Cal
1 Answer Cal, the latches that keep the control panel in place can be tight. If all the screws holding the panel in place are removed, and the door is open, the panel should come up and out. The only thing that could potentially hold it from lifting is the door lift that is attached to the panel. The easiest way to check if it is holding the panel from lifting up is to remove the outer shell of the microwave itself. Read More...
Concepcion July 01, 2017 for Model Number GE 205IDN2WW MICROWADE MODEL 205IDN2WW DOES NOT HEAT OTHER PARTS FUNTION NORMALLY
1 Answer Hello Concepcion! First off you'll want to be very careful when dealing with a high voltage unit like this. You'll need a multimeter to test your door switches, middle one WB24X25397 should be open when the door is closed and the other two WB24X10047 will be closed. If your meter has a diode test you could test the diode WB27X35382 and the magnetron WB26X32629 for an ohm value (look for a value less than one ohm.) Hope this helps! Read More...
Ray February 09, 2017 for Model Number JVM1540 DM4WW How do I get access to the control panel so I can replace the upper door switch.
1 Answer Ray, If you remove the air grill at the top of the unit, behind it will be a screw that you will remove to take the control panel off. Read More...
Dv October 23, 2015 for Model Number JES1451DS1BB My microwave works/ rotate when door open , I do not know if food heats up since it is not works.
1 Answer Hello DV. You will need to test all 3 door switches and see which one is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Jose May 21, 2015 for Model Number PVM1790SR1SS The problem is that the micro start heating , when I close the door , even without time for cooking
1 Answer Jose, With the unit starting even without setting the time for cooking, this would be a control board issue. The relay for the cooking would be in the control and the control would need to be replaced. Read More...
Dan D January 26, 2015 for Model Number ge sca1000dbb Microwave will not start--keeps sensing door is open even when closed. Part number for door switch?
1 Answer Dan, The door switch that has most likely failed would be the monitor switch part number WB24X25397. Read More...
1 Answer Hello Joe, You will need to replace all three door switches since they cause the complaint listed and if one has failed, the other two will fail soon and replacing them now saves the trouble of doing the job again. Read More...
Ernest September 09, 2014 for Model Number JNM1541DM5WW My microwave does not heat or warms my food anymore. I tried adjusting the temperature but nothing has worked.
1 Answer Hello Ernest. You most likely have a "high voltage" side malfunction. Transformer, diode, magnetron, Capacitor. You will need to be extremely careful if you decide to test the components with a multi meter, Very high residual voltage is present, so make sure you remove power to the microwave and short across the terminals on the capacitor. The magnetron should have a reading of less than 1 ohm resistance across the two terminals, and an "open" circuit between each terminal and chassis ground. The diode/rectifier should have a resistance reading in one direction only, no resistance, or resistance in both directions indicate a faulty diode. The primary winding on the trans former should read approximately 450 Ohms resistance, the secondary winding should read 80 ohms resistance, and the filament transformer should read 100 ohms resistance. If all the readings are proper and in range, replace the magnetron. Read More...
Bob May 12, 2014 for Model Number JES2051SN1SS My microwave oven will not heat, blows fuse and sends a message that the power level can not be changed at this time.
1 Answer Hello Bob. You need to check the magnetron and diode in the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
