Hello Lewis, If the unit is going into defrost but not defrosting, the heater harness assembly WR51X10101 is the most likely part at fault. If it should be good, the main board WR55X10942C controls this electrical circuit and is the next suspect.

Eileen, First check and make sure the sensor system is ON( the assembly on the right wall of the freezer). Close the door and wait a minute or two, then open the freezer door. Observe the LED light on the sensor assembly. If the light blinks two times and pauses then repeats the two flashes, press in on the emitter flapper on the left side wall. The LED light Should change to a "solid" light display. If the LED continues to flash replace the W11629974 optic sensor control boards. The part is in stock and available at this time. Thanks,

George for Model Number GE refrigirator model GSL25JFTF BS

Refrigerator runs continuously, but will shut off on occasion. I changed all three temperature sensors, WR55x10025. That did not correct the problem. The refrigerator temp. fluctuates between 37 to 41 degrees F. but has been at the 48 degree range at times. The cold air flow into the refrigerator in the upper left hand corner is not consistent and appears to be off at times. Is that normal? I don't have a freezer thermometer, however the food seems to be frozen solid.

Hello George. Make sure the condenser coils are clean and the condenser fan runs good. If so, then replace the main board on the unit.

Jane for Model Number ZFSB23DRGSS

Original problem is my ice will melt a few days after it is made, it would leak all over so I turn it off and not use it for about 2 years. Then my fresh food side is too cold (+-26 degree). Then after 6 months it is warm (+- 48 degree). The evaporator coil on the Fresh food side is getting lots of frost then after 6 months became block of ice. I have since defrost it manually and change the Thermistor Sensor behind the evaporator and tested sensor ohm its good. But after a few days after fixing the sensor, fridge is still too cold, my fresh vegetable is frozen. Should I change the thermostat ? There are 2 Thermistor sensor in the freezer and 2 in the fresh food side, should I change all the sensor?

1 Answer

Jane, With this issue, you would want to test the thermistors at the control board to make sure that there is good resistance. If the thermistors check ok then the issue will be with the control board otherwise would need to replace the thermistors.

Michael, Unfortunately, there is no defrost timer for this unit. The defrost cycle/circuit is part of the main control board / mother board WR55X10942C/WR55X10942, on the back of the refrigerator. The part is in stock and available at this time. Thanks

Heidi, The model number you supplied is incorrect or incomplete. We used model number PFS22SISBSS, to research your request. The freezer temp.sensor WR55X10025/ WR55X10025 should be located in the ceiling of the freezer compartment. You'll need to use a putty knife or flat blade screwdriver to carefully remove the cover and access the sensor. " The freezer thermistor is inserted in the thermistor cover located in the ceiling of the freezer compartment behind the light. To access the thermistor it is necessary to remove the freezer basket and drawer."

Hello Michael. It sounds like you may have sealed system failure and you will need an HVAC technician to come out and repair the unit for you. Thank you.
