Lynn October 30, 2014 for Model Number WE4M527 My sister took off the timer motor and bought a new one because the nipple for the knob wore out. However, she didn't take pictures of the wiring in the back before she took it off. How do I find out which wires from each section go where? I have been looking for a wire diagram but can't find one. Please help...

Greg August 10, 2014 for Model Number GE Dryer My GE dryer won't come on. I opened the back and can't get power from the Control Time (GE Part Number WE4M527 Timer,234d1296p001) to the Start Button. Power comes into the "B" terminal on the timer. The timer feeds the Start Button from the C terminal, but I can't get power to get from B to C. Any suggestions? Is the timer bad?

Denise May 24, 2014 The gray knob insert on top of the motor wore down and broke off. I have a new knob but there does not appear to be enough of the insert to fit in the knob so it just clicks and spins. Will I have to replace the whole timer motor? Thanks!
Anna April 30, 2014 I just installed the dryer timer WE4M527. The timer does not click when I turn the knob like the old part did, but the dryer does work. Is there a problem with the timer or is this the new design?
1 Answer Hello Anna. It is made with new contacts and will not click when it is new. As long as it works and advances, it is fine. Read More...
Ann May 05, 2013 for Model Number Drsr495eg6ww When turning the dryer cycle knob it appears I can put it on the cotton optimum dry. Sometimes it will work sometimes it acts as if it were set on timed dry. The dial never stops at the off position. It may stop just before or just after the off position. It seems that the mechanical setting is off from the printed dial. Will this require a new timer or is there a way to adjust the current timer?
1 Answer Ann, The timer does not have an adjustment to be made. The timer would need to be replaced. Read More...
Winkey9 February 05, 2013 for Model Number drsr495eg8ww The temperature control knob became loose. Now it has broken off. The stem which inserts into the knob is gone, assumed to be broken off into the control panel. Is it possible for me to replace this stem? Or do I need to replace the whole temp. control mechanism? And how do I replace these things? Thanks!
Paul December 20, 2012 for Model Number ge dpsr610egowt On "timed dry" cloths not getting fully dry and have to run a couple times. Took dryer apart and no blocked vents and heat element checked good. Seems as I turn knob on the 4 cycles the area for timed dry does not click or have indentations like other 3 options of cottons, delicate and easy care. Could it be worn out just in the "timed dry" area? Which part number is needed if it is the timer??
1 Answer Hello Paul, The timer would not have anything to do with the heating if the unit is working in all other cycles. I know that you checked the venting to the outside of the home but you may want to check the blower wheel to make sure that there is not excessive lint build up and check to make sure that the blower wheel is not damaged causing poor airflow. Steve October 27, 2012 for Model Number DRSR495EG2WW Difficult to turn timer knob. Plastic around knob clip is cracked but clip seems intact. All 4 knobs are cracked like this. The plastic timer stem (half moon shape with flat side that knob fits on) has some rounding of the edges. So, how do I determine if plastic timer stem is not rotating like it should, if knob can't grip because of rounded stem or if it is the knob because of the crack?
1 Answer Hello Steve, Remove the knob and try to turn the stem with pliers. If it is hard to turn, the timer WE4M527 will require replacement. Many times a bad timer will cause the knob to crack. Read More...
1 Answer Carmen, Here's a bit of information " To access the dryer controls, disconnect power and remove the four Phillips screws at the top of the switch trim. Grasp the trim at the top and pull forward. Three tabs at the bottom fit into slots on the top panel." Once you pull the timer knob off, be careful and don't loose the knob clip WH01X10106 and have the control panel down and access to the timer, you will need a flat blade screwdriver to raise the tabs holding the timer to the console and turn the timer assembly to dislocate it from the panel. Install the new timer, then take one wire off at a time, and install it on the new component, Make sure the wire is attached to the same terminal of the new timer. reverse the procedure and test the dryer operation.
