Michael E October 10, 2018 for Model Number HTDX100EM8WW This dryer is just over 3 years old. Recently the dryer stopped working (won't start when pressing the button regardless of timer dial) and the timer dial is free-spinning; there is slight friction when turning the dial but no clicking/zipping sound when turning, as it did when it worked. I ordered and replaced the timer with a new part (identical to the original). The dryer worked for ONE load, then the timer failed in exactly the same manner. What am I doing wrong?!?
1 Answer Michael, I would suspect it is the knob instead of the dryer. Remove knob and use pliers to set cycle and press start and see if that helps. New timers come already in a setting so pushing start after install it would work for a load. Read More...
Tom October 01, 2018 for Model Number DHDSR46GG7WW Two wires came off my dryer timer and i'm not sure where to reattach them. One is all white, the other is black/yellow. The timer model number is WE04X20415.
Henry June 17, 2018 for Model Number gtdx180ed4ww The new timer keeps ticking when the dryer is not started. I pull off all wires from the timer then connect again one by one. Then I found that the timer ticks only when BOTH the red wire(B) AND yellow wire (TX) are connected to the timer. Both the red and yellow wires come directly from power terminal on the back. I don't see any broken wire in the harness. What can cause it ticking when the dryer is off?
1 Answer Henry, Unfortunately it sounds like the contacts in the timer are sticking and would need the timer for this unit. Read More...
Juan May 09, 2018 for Model Number HTDX100EM8WW The timer was bad a this hotpoint dryer so we go a new timer for it. I put it on and double checked the wires. the reason it was changed was the knob broke off. Now it starts up but timer is out of sync with the cycles. it cuts off at 50 on the timer in wrinkle free. From that point it will start back up when I press start again but will run from that point till its passed cottons cycles which is supposed to stop of the cottons cycle.
1 Answer Juan, You will want to make sure that the skirt is on the timer properly or that the timer is installed properly as this would be the most likely cause on this issue. Read More...
Jamie February 07, 2018 for Model Number GTDP301GL1WS I only need the shaft, is it possible to only replace that part, or do I have to replace the entire timer? The timer works great.

Sarah November 29, 2017 for Model Number HTDX100EM8WW Do I need to replace the whole timer if the knob broke off and there is no longer a dial to turn? When the knob originally broke we used kneedlenose pliers for awhile to keep the dryer working. Now however I cannot turn the dial at all because the plastic has worn completely down. So much to replace the whole timer when the timer on mine still actually works. Any other suggestions or parts that can be ordered?
1 Answer Sarah, Unfortunately if the shaft of the timer has broken off then the entire timer would need to be replaced as the shaft is not available separately. Read More...

Mike August 27, 2017 for Model Number HTDX100EM8WW I replaced the timer but dryer will not start. I checked power going to the dryer and it is hot. Dryer was working with old timer but stopped shortly before I ordered a new one. New timer is hooked up correctly. The dryer does not seem to have any power at all. Any advise?
1 Answer Hello Mike, you'll want to test the thermal fuse part number WE4M137, the door switch part number WE4M415 and the belt switch part number WD21X10261 as well as the idler arm. Either of these part could cause your unit to give you the symptom you are experiencing. Hope this helps and good luck! Read More...
