David J August 08, 2015 for Model Number GE Dryer GTDX100 Out of all the parts listed for this machine, the timer, which I need to replace is stated as "NO LONGER AVAILABLE" The part number is AP3995012. Are there other compatible replacement timers available?
1 Answer David, The timer WE04X20415 showing discontinued means that the manufacturer is not making it and are not making a replacement that will work. Read More...
Kerri February 02, 2015 for Model Number HTDX100em4ww The original problem was a broken knob. I was turning the dial with a plier until it broke so small I had to open the top and that's when I think that brown wire touched. So where does the brown wire go or connect too. the brown wire on the old timer hit that metal plate
1 Answer Kerri, Once you repair the brown wire, it will attach to terminal "C" on the timer. Make sure you unplug the power cord or turn off the breakers at the breaker box before you do anything else. Read More...

Curt July 31, 2014 for Model Number NBXR333EG6WW This hot point dryer was not heating, took it apart and checked for continuity all thermostats and mica heating element and all checked out fine. put dryer back together and heating element started working, but was cycling on for 10 seconds and off for 40 seconds no matter what setting I put the timer on. Is this normal cycling time for this particular dryer? Thank You for your time, Curt
1 Answer Curt, You will want to check the drum outlet thermostat to make sure that it is good. The thermostat should open at 135 degrees and close at 125. If this is not happening then the thermostat is faulty and would need to be replaced. Read More...

J April 19, 2013 for Model Number GE DBXR463GG7WW Just bought new timer, replaced with old timer, still not starting. What can be the problem.
1 Answer J, If the unit is not starting at all you will first want to check the door switch WE4M415. When testing you will check for continuity with the door closed. If there is no continuity then the door switch is bad and needs to be replaced. If the door switch checks ok then you will need to check the thermal fuse WE4M137 on the blower housing. If the thermal fuse does not have continuity then it needs to be replaced. If the thermal fuse checks ok then you want to check the interlock switch WD21X10261. This is down by the motor and would have continuity with the button pushed in. If no continuity then it would also need to be replaced. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. 1 Answer Hello John. Test for power to the timer motor wires. If there is power there and the timer does not turn, you will need to replace the timer WE04X20415. If the motor is turning, you will test for the timer sending power to the parts on the unit. If it does not send power to the thermostats, you will need to replace the timer. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
