Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Split/leaking water line on my lg refrigerator   Craig L. • Collinsville , TX • July 27, 2014

Removed the old line and replaced with the new. This is the sixth time I've replaced the line. Yes you read that right, the sixth time. Lines fail about every 6-8 months so I can change one out now in about 10-15 minutes. Bought the refrigerator in Feb '09 and the line first failed in March 2012. Since then I've had failures in as little as 4 months to as much as 9 months. Frustrating to say the least, but I'm a whiz at changing out the line :-) Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Micro switch replacement on LG lfx25991st refrigerator.   Thomas V. • Temecula , CA • March 11, 2020

After my layman's diagnosis (hope) of a bad micro switch to the ice dispenser (would not activate and dispense ice through the chute) I purchased the both the ice and water dispenser micro switches (kill two birds with one stone). Albeit the video attached to these parts may be helpful to some it was not applicable to my refrigerator, as you could not access it from the front by removing the exterior dispenser plate. Don't try this on the LG, LFX25991ST series, refrigerator or you may break it... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Water spraying from filter supply line in back of refrigerator   Marcus E. • Spanaway , WA • February 03, 2015

First, water and electricity don't mix, so make sure to unplug your refrigerator before beginning this repair - it shouldn't take more than an hour, so you shouldn't have to worry about spoilage. My water dispenser began making a hissing sound from the back of the fridge when you pressed the dispenser. Upon inspection, I discovered the 1/4" feed line into the filter housing assembly had cracked. I ordered the 1/4" feed and 5/16" return lines, figuring to replace the return line while I was back... By: Lg
Part Number: ADQ72910911

The LG Refrigerator Water Filter is an OEM Replacement Part. It is designed to improve the quality of water and protect refrigerators and ice machines from sediment deposits. Compressor Overload Protector
Genuine Lg part
By: Lg
Part Number: 6750C-0004R

The Compressor Overload Protector is an OEM replacement part for LG refrigerators. It plays an important safety role in protecting the compressor from damage due to excessive heat. Located near the compressor unit, the overload protector functions to shut off power to the compressor if temperatures become too high during operation.

Causes can include normal wear over time rendering it less responsive to temperature changes. Mineral or refrigerant deposits may also impede its ability to detect overheating conditions accurately.

Symptoms of a faulty overload protector include:

  • Refrigerator fails to properly cool or the compressor does not run
  • Circuit board or electrical component failure or burnout
  • Lack of cold air production and higher than normal freezer/fridge temperatures

This OEM LG part is also compatible with some Sears/Kenmore models.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Not cooling   Paul B. • Frederick , MD • January 15, 2017

8 y/o LG unit was not cooling or freezing. There was a clicking on the back side every 2-3 minutes.
