Lg T. September 07, 2012 for Model Number WM0642HW The power supply filter board LG # 6201EC1006U is my questionable problem. The input voltage comes in on the left side of this board & measures 120 volt AC input voltage. The output voltage on the right side of this board has 3 wires. I measured 120 VAC from the blue wire to the brown wire, but only 60 VAC from the Green/yellow wire to the brown wire. Is this the normal voltages or should they both measure 120 VAC? I have already replaced the front PCB display board and the main control board board #6871ER1085F behind it and still my washer will not power on. The initial problem found was a failed electonic component on the main control board mentioned above.
1 Answer Hi LG. All filter input and output wires (except the white wire) should read 120 volts as it is checked with the green/yellow ground wire or chassis clean ground respectively. You do not check for 120vac between each as you mentioned. Only from one wire color to ground wire connections. Make sure that all wire connections are tight. I have seen it common that no control power is because of loose filter output connections. The filter part # 6201EC1006T may have failed due to a electrical surge during a storm for example. Use the ohm meter on R x 1 scale and make sure all control board fuses are good (o-ohms) closed circuit not - open (infinity). Thank You. Find the tech sheet inside the cabinet in a packet to assist. Usually under the top. Thank You. Read More...
Randy August 10, 2012 for Model Number lg wm1832cw Is this filter assembly a capacitor for motor noise?
1 Answer Hello Randy, Without actually talking to one of the engineers who helped design the machine, it's almost impossible to say whether the filter is used to prevent noise from entering the electronics from the power supply line or if the filter is for preventing noise in the machine from getting into the line. You see, during the design of the machine, the engineers add to the original design to compensate for issues they find during testing. They generally don't publicize the issues that cause extra components being added unless it adds a feature for the customer. Read More...
Roger March 16, 2012 for Model Number WM2277HW I have purchased this part and understand that the part is a sub. I need to know how to plug it in. The old one had wire on it which do not come off and this one does not. Could you please help?
1 Answer Hello Roger. The filter assembly 6201EC1006T should have a red and a white connector on it. Both of these connectors will release and change over to the new filter. Hope this helps. Read More...
