Kenneth October 04, 2021 for Model Number Kenmore Refrigerator MDL 795.51012. 010 Kenmore Refrigerator MDL 795.51012.010 has ice maker part # 5989JA1005G installed in it. Water is dripping off the left side of the cube tray causing ice to form on items in the freezer as well as the freezersurface. I assumed there was missing part from the slotted opening in the ice maker frame where the shiaft of the cube tray goes. However, after ordering a replacement ice maker part 5989JA1005G it arrived without anything in the slotted area to the left side of the cube tray. Is there another part thagoes in the slotted space or is this some sort of design free space fore the tray shift to flop around in?
1 Answer Kenneth, Because this is a flex tray, there is the chance that the tray will warp over time and cause this leaking type of issue. Read More...

Cedric September 02, 2020 for Model Number 795.51013.011 There is no water being distributed in the ice tray of the ice maker. Yet going through operation dumping as if ice was in the tray when there is none. Not putting water in the ice tray to make ice yet water is coming out of the dispenser in the door for a cup of water. Why is it not dispensing water in the tray for the ice maker? Where is the problem?
1 Answer Cedric, it is recommended that the water outlet tube for the ice maker is inspected for an ice blockage. If there is an ice blockage, it would need to be cleared and the water valve 5221JA2006D would need to be replaced. If there is not an ice blockage, the next step would be to identify if the water valve receives 120VAC when the ice maker reaches the end of its harvest cycle. If the valve does not get proper voltage, the failure could be in the ice maker 5989JA1005G or the main control EBR64585301. If it does get proper voltage, the failure would be in the valve. Cindy March 25, 2020 for Model Number AP4851053 When water flows into the tray it is over filling it which makes it a large mass of ice and when it dumps the ice will not release into the bucket. I have read that there are set screws to regulate the flow of water into the tray - where would those set screws be without removing the entire ice maker? Thanks
1 Answer Cindy, This icemaker does not have a set screw for the water level. If it is overflowing then this would likely be caused by a water valve that is not fully closing and would need to replace the valve. Read More...
