For Lg Refrigerator Main Electronic Control Board (Part Number: OEM13350657)

Steve A for Model Number Kenmore Elite (LG) 795.77563600 SN: 707KR00182

Was relay RY1 on the main control board sized up because the relay contacts for the refrigerator lights were welding together thus keeping the lights on when the doors were closed? I noticed in your video and board picture that the relay RY1 is now a much larger blue relay as opposed to the adjacent smaller black ones. This is a problem I have experienced and cleared by tapping RY1 lightly. Only stayed "fixed" for a while though.

Steve, Not sure what the manufacturer changed on the board but would most likely be that relay and would need to have a new control board to correct this issue.

Helen for Model Number LFX25960SW

Hi, My LG French door fridge does not dispense any water to the ice maker in order to make ice, unless I press the button that restarts the icemaker. After I restart the icemaker & ice makers has water, it will take hours even days to freeze the water. Also after water converts to ice, the ice maker would not dispense ice cubes to the ice bucket, unless I press the restart button on the icemaker. My fridge's temp is: 32F and the freezer is: -4F,the fridge DOES dispenses water to a cup, so I thought that the ice maker could be the issue. But I already bought a new ice maker and still have the same issue. My question is which part could be the issue? Could it be the Main Control Board? Thank you in advance.

Hello Helen. With it taking a long time to make ice, you will need to check the fan motor and see if it is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit. 5209JA1044A

Hello Dan, You will need to check voltage to the water valve during an icemaker cycle. If voltage it getting to it and no water is coming into the icemaker, verify no frozen tubing and replace the water valve 5220JB2008A. If no voltage is being sent to the water valve, verify electrical connections at the door hinge and if no problems found, replace the icemaker assembly EAU60943434.

Sandra for Model Number LG LFXS24663S

I have an LG Refrigerator French Door Bottom Freezer...the issue I am having is the front panel. It is always lit up. The fridge "thinks" the door is open so there is no water or ice from the door. I ran a test on the ice dispenser and the water dispenser and both are functioning. The panel also told me to change the air filter...It seemed sooner than needed but I did it and the reset button does not reset the air filter icon. I cleaned around all the magnet seals on the doors both refrigerator and freezer...still nothing. I unplugged the refrigerator for 5 minutes...and plugged it back in...I heard this may reset the panel...nothing. My question now is if I swap the old control panel for a new one do you think it will fix the problem? or is there some other computer component that needs to be changed?

1 Answer

Sandra, With not being able to reset the controls and if the lights are not on in the refrigerator indicating the door being open or a bad switch then you will want to make sure that the control is not in a lock out mode. If this checks ok where it is not then the control panel would be the likely issue.

Jason for Model Number LFX31945ST

I have a French door LG LFX31945ST. It seems to work fine for several weeks then will randomly heat up in the fridge to over 50 degrees. If I unplug the unit for about 5 minutes and then plug it back it then it seems to work fine again. I have my fridge set at 34 degrees but it seems so usually hover about 38 - 40 degrees based on my thermometer I have in there since this problem started so I can monitor the temperature. Last time it did this it seemed to be making a clicking sound coming from the control board area. Once I unplugged it and plugged it back in the compressor and everything kicked on and the fridge cooled back down to where it was supposed to be (or at least to the 38- 40 degree range). So what do I replace or check to figure out this problem.

1 Answer

Jason, This issue would most likely be the relay on the main control board that controls the defrost intermittently sticking. It would be recommended to replace the main control board.

Brad for Model Number Kenmore Coldspot 106.74203402

Is there a way to test the Main Control Board on my refrigerator? It is not going through the defrost cycle, even when I override it using the control panel in the refrigerator. I have checked the continuity of the defrost thermostat, as well as the continuity of the defrost heating element, and both are showing continuity. Lastly I checked the voltage coming into the heating element, and it it is reading about 0.5 volts (when it is in defrost mode). Thank you, Brad
