This DC motor assembly drives the refrigerator's fan to move air across the coils and through the cabinet, helping maintain stable temperatures. Replacing a worn, noisy, or non-running motor restores proper airflow for reliable cooling.

  • Powers the fan that circulates air across the coils and throughout the compartment
  • Supports even temperatures and consistent cooling performance
  • Common symptoms: fan won't run, intermittent or loud fan noise, weak/no airflow, warmer than normal temperatures
  • Longer run times when failing due to reduced airflow
What's included: 1 DC motor assembly Install notes:
  • Disconnect power to the appliance before servicing; use cut-resistant gloves
  • Access location varies by model; remove the rear cover or interior panel to reach the fan motor
  • Note connector orientation before unplugging; secure wiring fully on reassembly
  • Ensure the fan spins freely after installation before restoring power

Michael, The ER IF error code would indicate that there is a bad ice fan. If the unit is not cooling properly you would want to pull the rear wall in the freezer compartment and check the frost pattern of the evaporator coils. If the coils have very little frost and not an even frost pattern then this would be a sealed system issue and you will need service. Check to make sure that the fan motors are running.
