This DC motor assembly drives the refrigerator's fan to move air across the coils and through the cabinet, helping maintain stable temperatures. Replacing a worn, noisy, or non-running motor restores proper airflow for reliable cooling.

  • Powers the fan that circulates air across the coils and throughout the compartment
  • Supports even temperatures and consistent cooling performance
  • Common symptoms: fan won't run, intermittent or loud fan noise, weak/no airflow, warmer than normal temperatures
  • Longer run times when failing due to reduced airflow
What's included: 1 DC motor assembly Install notes:
  • Disconnect power to the appliance before servicing; use cut-resistant gloves
  • Access location varies by model; remove the rear cover or interior panel to reach the fan motor
  • Note connector orientation before unplugging; secure wiring fully on reassembly
  • Ensure the fan spins freely after installation before restoring power

My refrigerator was not cooling enough and figured out the fan is not working. I changed the fan (LG Motor assembly,dc (EAU64824401) but it still didn't fix the issue. The fan was not running at all so I reset the back panel and then it started working. The issue is the fan is not running all the time and I don't see any air in the refrigerator. The refrigerator top shelf (near the air filter) temperature is 65F whereas the Glide section at the bottom [Tray Assembly, fresh Room]is having 34F on the refrigerator. Called a technician and he asked me to change the back panel as he thought it could the back panel which is not allowing the fan to run continuously. The freezer is cooling properly but the refrigerator top section [except fresh room] is not. The fan is running intermittently. Near the Gasket Assembly door, noticed water and ice.

Ritz, it would be recommended that the door gaskets are inspected for any air leaks, especially near the top. If there is not an air leak, the next step would be inspecting the refrigerator evaporator for excessive frost build-up that could be preventing the fan from circulating the air properly. The fan should not run when the door is open until the door has been open for more than 5 minutes.

My LG ref keeps having the same problem over and over. There is a water and ice build under the meat/produce drawer. This problems keeps happening, I will remove the ice and water but it will be back in less then a weeks time. I have checked the seal between the ice maker and the upper level compartment no issues. when this happens there is a lot of water and ice under the drawer. We purchased the unit in 2016 late. The motor is loud and we have replaced the compressor once, the ice maker , complete door seal and freezer drawer seal. not sure what to do next.

Jeff B, Based on the information provided I would check the drain pan under the evaporator in the fresh food compartment and make sure it is clear and not stopped up. You may wish to add the heat probe kit to keep it from freezing up again. 819043

Elizabeth for Model Number LFX31945ST/05

Dear Sir or Madame, My LG fridge began making a racket, and eventually produced a code, "Er rF" This represents a problem with the "refrigerator fan motor." Although my model is slightly different from the one in your video, I muddled through until I got the panel off behind all those drawers in the freezer. There are two fan motors in there. I haven't a clue what they each do. I can't detect a problem with either of 'em. They look fine. Both fan blades turn freely. So now what? I'd replace the malfunctioning motor, if I had a clue which one was a problem. How do I figure out which one to replace? Where can I find instructions on how to replace it? Thanks in advance, Elizabeth

Elizabeth, the panel in the refrigerator section would need to be removed to access the fan motor located inside of the top of the panel. With a meter, the fan can be tested (with the door switches activated) for voltage while plugged in by testing from the gray wire (with black probe) at the connection to the blue wire (with red probe) for 12VDC. If there is not 12VDC then the main control would need to be checked at CON6 pin 5 to pin 3 (same probe on same wires). If there is 12VDC, then there is a wiring issue, if there is not, then the main control CSP30021077 has failed. If there is 12VDC at the fan connection in the refrigerator section, then the fan motor EAU65089701 has failed. If there is anything blocking the fan blade, it can cause this error as well.

Robert, the fan motor is part number EAU65089701. However, you may want to check the refrigerator evaporator for any ice build up as this can cause the fan to start making a noise. If there is an ice build up, you will want to test the evaporator sensor [6615JB2005S] for proper operation. The sensor chart will be emailed to you.
