Ken April 26, 2013 for Model Number DLG5988W Dryer turns on, drum rotates for a few seconds, then stops. Tested on air dry and get same result. There is an electrical burn odor. What can be the cause and how do I test part? Thank you!
1 Answer Ken, This issue sounds like the run winding on the motor may be bad. The unit will start via the start winding and after a few seconds the centrifugal switch switches to the run winding and keeps unit running. The motor windings should have a resistance value of 3-5 ohms. Check from terminals 1 to 3 for resistance values. Read More...
Dennis R January 27, 2013 for Model Number DLGX7188RM Dryer runs but wont heat up, checked and cleaned sensors, gas flow is okay (shutoof is open), vents are okay - air coming out but cold. I reset the house circuit breaker as per manual.
1 Answer Hello Dennis, You will want to look for a bad heating element or thermostats/thermal fuses. Check continuity on the themostats, thermal fuses and heater. If any are open then it needs to be replaced. Read More...
Jay D December 15, 2012 for Model Number LG DLE7177RM The Dry and Cooling lights are on as soon as you start any of the myriad of cycle options. Cooling stays on.... I cleaned the two sensors and same issue. Everything else appears to work. I am going (based on reading similar issues) to order and try the two sensors if cleaning with alcohol does not work. If it does not work, and I need to go to Laundamat- may need more alcohol! Argggh.
1 Answer Jay, Cleaning or replacing the sensor bar(s) and checking the wires from the bar(s) to the control board, is a good place to start. The more likely issue is a communication error in the main control board 6871EL1013A or a connection between the two boards 6871EL1007A is most likely at fault. Read More...
Brent May 02, 2012 for Model Number lg dle8377nm In order to get items to dry accurately, one must use time dry rather than the normal cycle because the dryer is not sensing whether or not the clothes are dry. Which sensor is this? It appearsm there might be two...
1 Answer Brent, There are two sensor bars, located on the front bulkhead near the lint filter. Wet clothes create a short across the two sensors and keep the dryer running, until the clothes are dry enough to allow the circuit to change and short to ground and allow the control to turn the unit off, Check and make sure both sensor bars are present, the wires are connected and is all appears OK, clean the sensor bar and area with alcohol, to remove any chemical build up on the bars, Thanks and Good Luck Read More...
Mark April 13, 2012 Dryer says check lint filter and flashes cl code, filter is clean, dryer will not respond to anything. Took filter assembly apart cleaned everything there is to clean.
1 Answer Hello Mark. It sounds like the thermistor 6323EL2001B is bad and will need to be replaced. Hope this helps. Read More...
Leng U November 10, 2011 for Model Number DLG0332W The Burn or Heat won't start or burn? What sensor should I check?.
1 Answer Leng, The dryness sensor has nothing to do with the heating of the dryer. You need to check the glow bar igniter 5318EL3001A and radiant sensor 6501EL3001A for proper circuitry, the thermostats AGM30045804 AGM30045804 AGM30045804 AGM30045804. They should all have "closed" circuits at room temperature(78 dgrs.) when you check across the terminals with a multimeter. heres some meter usage information, should you need it [http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html] Good Luck and Thanks Read More...
