For Lg Dryer Moisture Sensor Bar (Part Number: OEM13335393)

Oscar, There is a thermistor on the blower housing that if it is out of tolerance it would cause the issue that you are experiencing. The part number of the thermistor is WP8577274.

Hello Kevin, This will be either the door switch not re-connected or the belt switch needs to be set correctly. Both are common things overlooked on this model. The belt switch is on the motor bracket at the bottom where the end of the idler arm can contact it.

Mario, Converting the unit from LP to natural gas would not cause the unit to not heat. You will want to check the igniter to make sure that it is good. Test the gas coils to ensure that they have the proper resistance and double check all the wiring to make sure that nothing was disconnected when converting.

Wagthedog for Model Number LG DLE5001W Electric Dryer

LG 5001W Electric Dryer lights up, but will not accept any commands and will not turn, even on "Time Dry"-- nothing. We always keep the filter and duct, which is very short, clean. I went inside to clean the interior, and found some extraneous lint inside, but not very much, with no big buildup on heat sensor or fan, etc., at all, however, the Belt was broken. I ordered a belt from your website (which arrived in only 2 days!) and replaced the belt without much trouble according to your video. However, it's just as before-- the Control Panel lights up, the "Drying" light is on, and it still won't accept any commands or turn the drum under any circumstances. This is getting frustrating. The dryer is only 2 years old, and has already had a belt replaced twice now, and had another problem that the repairman said was a circuit board and some other problem. We can't pay $169 every 6 months just to have wiat a week for some guy come out here and then bill me another $140 for parts and have to wait 2 more weeks for the parts to arrive. Is there a "reset" breaker or something I've missed? You have a great website, but it was difficult to find a video that showed how to take apart an LG Electric Dryer of our type (but the video on disassembly of the LG Gas Dryer was virtually identical and most helpful-- Thank You!) [Rant Alert--] Our previous "ancient" Kenmore ran well for many years and many heavy loads, and the one time a component did fail, was simple and easy to repair without taking the whole damn thing apart. These "modern" so-called "high-efficiency" dryers (and washers) can barelydry a light-to-medium load of clothes, WON'T handle a load that includes more than 2 towels, twist everything into a long string of clothing, and break down every 6 months or less with some problem or another. The interior components seem to be "featherweight-flimsy" as well. I'm beginning to think they're a terrible joke on the consumer, it seems. Help!

Hello WagTheDog. These units have a belt switch. You need to make sure it is correct since the belt broke. Also, check the thermal fuse and the door switch on the unit.

Bob for Model Number lg dlex3360

I removed a sock that was caught in the blower fan. The dryer was working, just making a rubbing(?) sound. While apart i vacuumed everything; blower fan, lint basket, exhaust pipe, cleaned sensors with alcohol. Now when i hit the power button, it starts beeping right away and the "check filter" light is blinking and the signal volume is lit, nothing else lit or flashing and the dryer won't start. If i hit the power button and quick turn the selector knob it will light up, as will appropriate temp, spin speed, etc but dryer still won't start. I do not see/feel any loose wire connections. What could be the problem?

1 Answer

Bob, You will want to check on the blower housing to make sure that the thermistor is not disconnected or the wiring being damaged. This is the most likely cause for the filter light to flash and unit to not start.

Hello Brenda. See if the vent is bad on the unit. If it is good, either the thermistor or the control board needs to be replaced on the unit.

Hello Paul, The parts you need to check with a test meter are the centrifugal switch in the motor (AP4438218), the safety thermostats (AP4440977), (AP4440976), the high limit thermostat (AP4440975), and the heating elements' inner and outer coils (AP4439759). These are all of the components in the heating circuit. If all of these components check good, the control (AP4442894) has failed.
