The Water Level Pressure Switch is an OEM part for LG washing machines. It monitors the water level inside the washer and signals the control board to stop filling when the desired level is reached, ensuring the correct amount of water is used for each cycle.

Causes of a bad water level pressure switch can include electrical malfunctions, damage to the pressure sensor, or blockages in the air tube connected to the switch.

Symptoms of a bad water level pressure switch include:

  • The washer overfilling or underfilling with water
  • Inconsistent water levels during different cycles
  • Error codes related to water levels
  • The washer not progressing through cycles properly

This OEM LG part is also compatible with Sears/Kenmore models.

For Lg Water Level Pressure Switch (Part Number: OEM13322148)

Matt Romney for Model Number WM2101HW

My washer intermittently is displaying OE. I have cleaned the drain filter and tubing and tested the pump. The pump appears to be running fine. The problem seems to be that the washer will actually drain all the water but does not proceed to the next cycle. What tells the control panel that all the water is drained and it is time to move on? Could the water pressure sensor be bad? What actually tells the control panel that water is not draining? If I cut power to the washer, it tends to clear the error and will work for several wash cycles but eventually the OE error returns.

Matt R, Based on the information provided I would recommend using a washer cleaner such as "Affresh" and clean the machine a couple of times, then make sure you are using "HE" detergent and only the minimal amount. It sounds as if the machine has a build-up of suds and the pressure switch thinks there is still water in the machine. If the cleaning doesn't clear the issue you may have to replace the pressure switch.

Could you tell me where I should look for any clogs? The code I am getting is IE and I cleaned the screens from the water source and they were pretty dirty but it didn't seem to help. The tub fills slowly and doesn't complete cycles and goes to code IE every time. I have been watching videos and still not sure where to look for any clogs. The only reason I am thinking it is clogged is the amount of dog hair we have due to so many canines. Thanks

Hello Rick, I would first turn the water off and disconnect the water line from the back of the appliance. Put the hose into a bucket and turn the water on to ensure there is not a failed water shut off at the home plumbing. You can then check the screens in the water inlet valve. If there is you can remove the screens and install a set of screens 285452A, with the point of the screen cones pointing toward water pressure. As a note, this part number includes a set of two screens.

Hello Fapel, the noise you hear is usually caused by the rear tub spin bearings being worn or the basket spider/shaft has a problem, and causing the control board to react to what it thinks is an unbalanced clothes load in the basket and it trying to rebalance the load , the rear outer tub assembly is AJQ73413811. the inner tub with spider is 3045ER1017L.

Robert, If you had to turn the water faucets off to stop the water flow, then the fill valve is the issue. If you were able to stop the water by turning the machine off or unplugging the power cord, then the pressure switch could be the issue. but, first, disconnect the air tube from the switch, blow in on the end of the tube. There is a possibility of sediment, debris or deposits clogging the air tube, causing the water to overflow. You may want or need to remove the 5214FR4125N / MEJ62305101 air tube and check for any pinholes, tears, etc. that may allow the air to escape the tube as the washer is filling. If all the checks are OK, then check the wiring and replace the 6601ER1006G Water Level Pressure Switch.

Jeff, with the unit unplugged and as much of the water removed as possible, you may want to inspect the tub to pump hose, the drain pump housing, and the drain hose for any clogs. There will be a drain hose in the coin catch drain filter section that can be used to drain the water. If there is no water that will drain from the hose, then there is most likely a clog in the tub to pump hose that would need to be cleared. If the water drains, then that would indicate the tub to pump hose is clear enough to allow draining. Once it is verified that there are no clogs in the system, you will want to inspect the wiring to ensure that there are no shorts in the wire. If the wire checks good, then the most likely issue would be the main control EBR62545101 is not sending voltage to the drain pump.

My LG front load washer is leaking down the front of my washer from the laundry detergent dispenser draw. Draw is clean. No residue present. It leaks more when it goes into the rinse cycle. I replaced the dispenser assembly housing thinking that the tiny holes where the water drops in were clogged from iron which was causing the water to enter into the tray too quickly? Any idea what could be causing this issue? Hot water inlet valve, cold water inlet valve assembly????

1 Answer

Robert, When the unit is rinsing it is using only the cold water valve. To leak out of the drawer it has to be overflowing from the water not going into the tub quick enough. Double check the fabric softener cup to make sure there is no residue built up under the tab. If all is clear then it's possible the cold water valve needs to be replaced.
