1 Answer

Hello Pablo. Yes, the boards are new. We will need the last 4 numbers after the XAA to see what board you need or the production number on the unit. Thank you.

Anicca, The E23 error code will most likely be caused by a condenser fan motor that is not running.

Ron Bishop for Model Number SAMSUNG RF4287HARS

My Samsung RF4287HARS is just over 4 years old and a couple of weeks ago it simply stopped cooling. I did research and thought that maybe it had gone into DEMO mode so I executed the button presses to take it out of demo mode and that didn't seem to do anything. I unplugged the refrigerator for a while and reconnected it and it started working again. I was actually hoping that I had a compressor problem so it would be covered under the 5 year compressor warranty but no such luck. Everything worked great until yesterday. It was making ice like crazy and then it simply quit cooling again. I went through the same steps as before and I think it is working again but I can't keep transferring frozen food to my second fridge. There has to be something causing this problem. I might add that there are LEDs out on the display panel so it is hard to read but that has never seemed to be a problem with the function of the refrigerator. The LEDs have been messed up for 2 or 3 years. HELP!!!

Ron, The leds being out is a different issue than the unit not cooling. This not cooling would most likely be the unit going into defrost and not coming out which would indicate a main control board issue.

Donna, Yes this unit has a PCB which is located behind a panel in the back of the unit. The part number for the PCB needed is DA92-00233D.

John for Model Number RFG298HDRS/XAA-0000

I'm having a problem with the refrigeration ice maker. Freezer ice maker works fine. I did replace the ice maker - DA97-07365G. The ice maker worked fine for about 5 months. It's not working again. When I do the reset button (hear the chime) and the water is filling the tray fine. As soon as the water has dispensed, I hear the chime again. I don't recall this happening with the replacement at the beginning. The water is not freezing. Any thoughts as to what may be wrong? Ice maker has failed again? Motherboard? I am currently waiting for a motherboard which I purchased on 4/23. I don't want to replace the board if it's not the issue. Thanks, John

1 Answer

John, This issue does sound more likely that it would be the control board that is faulty on the unit.

Sonny, With the compressor running but no frost pattern on the evaporator in the freezer then this would be a sealed system issue in which you will need to have service technician to repair.

Angel, If there is no frost pattern at all in the freezer then this will most likely be a sealed system in which there is a low refrigerant charge. This would require a technician to diagnose.

About 6 weeks ago the icemaker started to slow down ice production - now, it only produces ice when the reset button is pressed. After replacing the icemaker (problem didn't go away) I then determined that the freezer is not getting cold enough, it only gets down to about 25 F. Fridge temp is good, no ice or frost buildup anywhere, cleaned coils and made sure compressor fan is running. Compressor gets warm but not super-hot. I have run the front panel diagnostic and there are no errors. One thing I have noted is that the actual freezer temperature (that flashes after changing the desired temperature) works between 0 and about -6 C and then flatlines to -22C and stays there. I got a replacement PCB but that hasn't changed the problem. I am now thinking it must be either the temperature sensor in the freezer or possibly the PCB Inverter is borderline. I ran the forced compressor test and the inverter LED is a solid steady red. Do you have any suggestions?

Hello Jimmy, Push the Energy saver (which looks like power cord) and Power freeze button (snowflake) for 3 seconds to clear the OF. The unit is in power off mode or showroom mode. Once this is cleared if it goes back on its own you will need to replace the display assembly of the dispenser.
