Bassel January 19, 2025 for Model Number Rfg297ac The inverter board is flashing once. It says to check inverter PCB connector and comp really connector. I checked both and they seemed fine. The compressor is not turning on but the fan does. Do you think it's the inverter board ?
1 Answer Bassel, if the compressor windings measure the same resistance when testing each pin to the other pins, the failure would most likely be in the inverter control. For the most accurate part information, the complete model and the REV number would be necessary. Read More...
Terry October 14, 2022 for Model Number RFG297AARS/XAA Compressor is not running. Self-diagnostic mode does not produce any faults. LED on inverter board blinks 5 times. Checked resistance for compressor and all are +/- 10 ohms. I believe that the inverter board is faulty, but the inverter board DA41-00411A V1 is no longer available. Are there any other boards that can be substituted, or is fridge toast?
1 Answer Hello Terry, If the unit was tested after being turned on for at least 5 minutes, the 5 flashes indicate a low voltage to the compressor. The inverter board would be at fault. I'm sorry but this part has been discontinued by the manufacturer and no satisfactory substitutions have been provided. You might be able to locate a board by doing an online search if there are any new in old stock somewhere. You could also try having the board reconditioned by a company that supports the board. You can find this sort of company in an online search also. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter. Read More...
Gerald June 04, 2022 for Model Number RF18HFENBSR/AA This Samsung refrigerator's temperature fluctuates and the chiming noise starts after reaching above or below the desired 38º setting which reaches sometimes as high as 46º. Based on your vast experience, which part is the likely culprit?
1 Answer Gerald, Typically temp swings like you have described are sealed system related. Best that you call an EPA technician on this one. Might still be worth a try to troubleshoot with this video: https://youtu.be/QZrQ3Y5n-o4 Read More...
Gino December 01, 2021 for Model Number RF267AERS/XAA Hello, I have a samsung RF267AERS/XAA fridge. Two weeks ago we were told that the breaker was thrown on that circuit, not sure if the issue was too much pull, as a few appliances were being used in the house, but not on the same circuit to my knowledge. A few days later I noticed the unit getting warmer with the temperature flashing on the display. I checked the back and the compressor fan was spinning but the compressor was not on. The inverter board was flashing 5x (under voltage). within 24hours of that, the unit started working again and it cooled the fridge down to normal working conditions. Inverter board had a solid led when compressor was on, and we thought the issue had resolved itself. A few days later it happened again. Same flashing light error (5x led light). Again within 24hrs the unit started working again, and as of today it has stopped cooling again. I assume it may start again sometime soon. I notice now that when it stops working, the temperature on the display stays at -2 and 38 even though the unit is warmer, the temps do not reflect reality until you power cycle the unit. I've tried to source the problem by replacing the main board with a used one, and checking voltages and resistance, but the issue persists. I'm a little stumped. Resistance on compressor measured 8.9 ohms across all three pins Voltages on inverter board: s/blue / grey =120VAC red / brown = 0VDC btw: the samsung troubleshooting manual for compressor not working is inaccurate and may not be related to this unit, as it asks to check IC's that do not exist on this main board. Upon first plugin in the unit, the inverter led quickly flashes 2x, then the led shuts down until the compressor is called or I do a forced FF test, then it starts its 5x blink cycle. Also a relay on the upper left hand of the main board clicks and flashes twice right after plugin in, but nothing happens.
1 Answer Gino, According to the information that can be located, the 5 flashes indicate that there is low voltage. You will want to replace the inverter board and if this problem persist then it would be the compressor but since it is a sporatic issue the inverter would be the most likely issue. Read More...
Vincent August 26, 2021 for Model Number RF18HFENBSP/AA I believe my main control board needs replacing. Unit is sporadic, compressor sometimes just starts up then quits in about 10 seconds, sometimes works to the point freezer hits -20 while set -2, sometimes compressor doesn't start and continue to run so frig/freezer creeps up in temperature by 20 to 30 degrees. This unit was plugged into a gfi outlet and 125 foot of extension cord, so I think that is what messed up the control board.
1 Answer Vincent, based on the information provided, the most likely failure would be the main control DA92-00420T. Read More...
Diane C November 04, 2020 for Model Number RS267TDBP/XAA-0000 There was a power outage after which the ice maker stopped working and the display panel flashed S E. None of the buttons would work or respond. Water still could be dispensed, but no ice. And no ice was being made. I replaced the ice maker inside the door, but that did not fix the display panel problem, which is what controls the ice maker. What more parts do I need? I fould the panel part with the words, but the problem couldl be what is behind that. Help! I've already sunk $200 into this project and don't want to keep ordering parts that dont solve my issue.
Jeremy June 24, 2020 for Model Number RF18HFENBSR/AA Electrical surge popped 2 IC chips on the DA92-0011B. I replaced it with a used one (yeah I know). The fridge will work for a random amount of time then it stops cooling or freezing. The DA92-0011B on board red led flashing 2x then pause then 2x... I am looking for the trouble codes for this board but haven been successful in locating them. Is this a bad used board or is there another component that needs replacing? "Help me Obi Wan, you are my only hope!" Jeremy
1 Answer Hello Jeremy, the 2 flash code refers to a problem in the compressor's inverter board, you can also check the compressor windings using a multimeter and checking between the terminal pins for no short or open and should have a value of around 5-9 ohms and all winding should match closely. If compressor checks ok replace the inverter board DA92-00111B. Read More...
Don L March 08, 2020 for Model Number RS267TDRS/XAA-0000 Customer Service, My ice maker stopped making ice, I replaced the blue water valve in the back and replaced the maker. Checked the water line to the ice maker all is clear. The problem is the ice machine is not getting water sent to it. I think maybe it’s 1 of the 2 circuit boards in the back maybe the inverter board? Thank you for you time. V/r Don LeMay
1 Answer Don, The inverter board is only for the compressor to operate. The board that would be needed for this is the main board DA41-00670A. Read More...
Mike August 26, 2019 for Model Number RF20HFENBSR/AA The problem with my refrigerator started when the top half would freeze up. (fresh food) I replaced the sensor and I am not sure if the inverter board is bad. I have ac going to it. Should the red light be on at all? Neither the compressor or fan comes on.
1 Answer Mike, you may want to try pressing and holding the power freeze and the freezer button at the same time for around 5 seconds to check to see if the display mode has been activated. The unit should chime after 5 seconds indicating the activation or deactivation of the display mode and if the compressor turns on then the display mode was activated. If the compressor does not come on, the process will need to be repeated to ensure that the unit is placed back into the original state. The inverter led should be on and solid indicating that it is receiving proper voltage. The signal voltage from the main control would need to be checked at connection CN73 on the main control. With the black probe of a meter on pin 3, the red probe would be placed at pin 4 to test for outgoing DC voltage signalling to the inverter to turn the compressor on. If there is not a pulsing DC signal, then the main control DA92-00420S has failed. If there is a DC signal, then the inverter DA92-00111B has failed. If there is a continuous clicking coming from the compressor area, this is an indicator that the compressor overload protector DA34-00004D is tripping due to an over draw on current from the compressor and can either be a failing overload or a locked up compressor.
