Joe January 26, 2014 for Model Number samsung wf218 anw/axx Has power, water but when you select a load and turn it on, it just click and hums sound, but never fills with water or spins or drain or nothing, just sits there clicking and humming, liket it wants to run, door is closed and lock , no error message comes on.
1 Answer Joe, You will want to check the screens on the water valve and make sure that they are not clogged. Also check to make sure that the water supply is turned on. With the door locking but the unit just humming would most likely be one of these 2 issues. Read More...
Derek B July 05, 2013 for Model Number Samsung WF218ANW The pump started making a vibration/noise a few days ago when draining. Removed pump, all is clean inside but the impeller does not turn smoothly (jerky) and the housing around the impeller shaft is filled with rancid water. New motor?
1 Answer Derek, The jerking motion of the impeller is normal as it is magnetic drive. You will want to check the impeller to make sure that it is not loose inside the pump. There is always water in the pump. The vibration could very well be the drain pump shaft being wobbly. Read More...

Jim January 24, 2013 for Model Number Samsung WF218ANW Had this washer for just over 2 years and clean it regularly. The washer now stalls in the middle of a load. I can start a normal load and it will fill the tub and wash, then drain the tub and stall during the rinse/spin cycle. The motor hums like it wants to spin or drain? It does this for about 10 minutes and then a nd warning comes on. This is supposed to be a no drain warning, so I taken the filter out several times to clean out. I opened the back and checked the drain line and rubber fitting under the tub to make sure it is not clogged. Could this be the pump going bad? I also noticed a rubber flap on the pump assembly when attaching the drain hose. Could that flap be sticking? Thanks, Jim
1 Answer Hello Jim, It is a possibility for the flapper to get stuck. You will also want to make sure that there is nothing inside the drain pump that would clog it and make sure that the pressure hose is not kinked or clogged. Read More...
Bob May 18, 2012 for Model Number wf218anw/xaa In reguards to removing my drain motor, you said "Seperate the Front-frame and remove two M12 nuts". Are you telling me to remove the front panel door and all? Does the front panel assy with the electronics in it stay attached to the frame, or do i have to unhook it to remove the front. Thanks BOB
1 Answer Hello Bob. Yes, that is the instructions from the manufacture. The control panel and the front panel will need to be removed from the front of the unit. I have replaced these pumps from under the washer. You will need to lean the washer backwards and brace it so it does not fall and go through the hole in the bottom to do it that way. However, it is much easier to replace through the front, but you have to disassemble the washer to do it through the front. Read More...
Bob May 17, 2012 for Model Number samsung wf218anw/xaa My washers drain pump cycles off and on about ten times before the spin cycle starts is that normal? Each cycle is only a few seconds and only pulls a little bit of water each time, but it will empty the drum. How do I get the drain pump out? Can I put the washer on its side and do it that way?
1 Answer Hello Bob. It is normal for the pump DC96-01700A to cycle on and off before the spin cycle. This is the way samsung has programed the control board, and prevents the pump from over heating in the unit as well. Disconnect the power and remove the top panel. 1. Seperate the Front-frame and remove two M12 nuts. 2. Separate the Clamp of the hose connected to the Drain-Motor and remove the screw. 3. Separate the wire connector. If the washing machine works, drain the water in the wash tub by selecting the Spin course. If the washing machine does not work, remove the laundry from the wash tub and scoop the remaining water out of the tub using a cup. Remove the pump from the unit. Read More...
Kerry S. October 27, 2011 for Model Number wf218anw/xaa I get a nd code on my washer and it plays a tune. I then press the start button and it continues to wash. My clothes come out of the cycle soaking wet. I pulled the pump out and it looked clean, but when I rotate the impellar, it feels like there is a jerky rotation. Like starting an internal combustion motor. I am trying to figure if this is a drain pump issue.
1 Answer Hi Kerry. The drain pump impeller is defective. Pump part # is DC96-01700A. Check drain hose and make sure it is not clogged. Use Affresh washer cleaner monthly to obtain performance. Part # W10549845. Thank You. Read More...
