Artbur March 27, 2018 There is an eight inch gap tween the ice maker body and the drawer. This keeps the outside door slilghtly loose. How can I get the drawer open and shut tightly?
1 Answer Hello Artbur. You will need to check and see if something is behind the bucket preventing it from going all the way back and closing. Thank you. Read More...
Jason February 24, 2018 for Model Number RFG297AABP/XAA I replaced the ice maker after previous ice maker was making but not releasing ice cubes. I assumed that this was a bad defrost circuit in the ice maker. After replacement, the new ice maker produces no ice at all. I have reset and reinstalled the icemaker. I checked the water inlet valve. The water dispenser works with good pressure. The water inlet valve has 1 input with 2 outputs. Water dispenser output working but not sure how to force ice maker side to try to output. Appears that ice maker is not receiving water, but unsure what to check next.
2 Answers Jason, On the icemaker there is a button that you would push and hold for 10 seconds that should allow the icemaker to cycle and then you can test to see if there is 120 vac to it and if there is then this will be a bad water valve. Read More...

2 Answers Jason, You may want to remove the panel and recheck the wiring connections. Then press and hold the "test" button for 2 or 3 seconds (test button is in the upper right hand corner of the front of the ice maker) the ice maker should start to run and rotate, if not, you'll need to check the main control board for damage or dark burnt spots, and power out to the ice maker. Of course, if the ice maker advances and completes the test cycle, but theres no fill, then the water valve would be at fault and need to be replaced. Read More...

Robert November 26, 2017 for Model Number Samsung rfg297aars Hi The ice maker stopped making ice.I replaced valves in the back. How do I check ice maker assembly (front and rear) with volt meter?
1 Answer Robert, The first thing to check is to make sure that there is ice that is formed in the icemaker. If there is then try to push the test button to see if it will cycle. If it will not then this will be a faulty icemaker. If it starts to cycle but the ice is not being ejected you can test for 120 vac on the main control board from the CN70 pin 1 to pin 9 with the icemaker cycling. If there is no voltage then will be a bad control board. If there is no water in the icemaker then test at 120vac at the water valve and if this checks ok then the water valve would be the issue. Henry M. August 08, 2017 for Model Number RF267AARS/XAA-0000 Do you need to unplug the refrigerator when replacing the icemaker?
1 Answer Hello Henry, It is always a good idea to unplug an appliance before performing service to avoid an electrical shock or short to ground during the service that can cause personal injury or damage to the appliance that would not have occurred otherwise. If it is not convenient to unplug it, the breaker should be flipped off at the breaker box or the fuse removed from the fuse box and voltage to the unit verified to be off before beginning the service. Alfredo August 01, 2017 for Model Number RF26DEPN The part No. of the ice maker listed for this model is DA97-05422C as far as I can see it looks exactly the same as the DA97-05422A. is there any real difference between these two parts?
1 Answer Alfredo, We are not showing differences between the 2 icemakers but we cannot see the wiring and determine whether this would be the difference. In most cases the wiring is different and is the reason for a different part number. Read More...
