Tino January 05, 2012 for Model Number rs2556sh The refrigidator compartment is not holding its temperature. I change the fan motor new, and it only keeps it at 56 F. I set it at 34 F. What do I need to do or replace?
1 Answer Hi Tino. Does the control display digits give a fault code that shows as a solid bar adjacent to the number?Samsung- Fountain "CODE" diagnosis: Lets use the number system for the code. The top bar on the number 8 is #1, and the right side top is #2, the bottom right is #3, the bottom bar is #4, The bottom left is #5, the top left is #6, and the middle bar is # 7. Let me know by the number system what code you have, and if it is in the refrigerator or freezer side of the display. This will give a better diagnosis. Also when you changed the fan motor, did the coils have a complete frost pattern across all the coils or was there a ice ball anywhere ? Is the damper opening fully at 50 % or the return air flow blocked ? are the door seals closing properly ? Is the compressor condenser fan turning up to speed ? Are the condenser coils clogged ? Let us know so we can assist. you further. Thank You. Read More...
Nathan August 27, 2011 for Model Number Samsung RS269LARS I need to replace my PBA main. Is this a complicated procedure for me to do myself? A repairman wants $675 to do the job. Seems a bit steep. thanks, Nathan
1 Answer Hi Nathan. Remove power. The main pcb board is part # DA41-00104M. You Also need to replace part # 2501-001045. This coil will keep the compressor running efficiently. These partsd are in the back by the compressor. They are inside a white plastic box cover. As long as you do not short out the capacitor connectors and ground yourself out on the metal chassis to ground. This will get rid of 30,000 static volts so you do not discharge on the new board while replacing it. The less you touch the board, the safer you will be. Thank you. Read More...
Steve H. July 21, 2011 for Model Number rs267lbbp Refrigerator portion is vering temp, from upper 40's to 60's. Is this a pba main board problem. Freezer seems cold, not frozen.
1 Answer Hello Steve. Is there any codes on the front dispenser? Check and make sure there is no frost build up inside the refrigerator on the back wall. If so, you may have a bad defrost heater DA96-00020Q. You can test the heater for continuity. It should read closed. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps.http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Brian N. June 03, 2011 We have a 3 door Samsung Refrigerator. 2 top doors for refrigerator and the bottom pull out freezer. At work and don't know model#. The main board apparently needs replaced and we were told we had to turn off, empty and keep open all 3 doors for 24 hours before replacing so it could defrost! That seems like an exorbitant amount of time and it's a frost free unit, less than 4 years old. Can you advise?
1 Answer Hello Brian! You will do not need to leave the unit off with the doors open for 24hrs to replace the main board. But be sure that you do however, remove power to the unit before attempting any repairs. Thanks. Read More...
Troy May 09, 2011 for Model Number RS2555SW Do you know if it is a seprate circuit to defrost the freezer and one for refrig. Reson being if the freezer side is fine by the refridge side is not defrosting.
1 Answer Hello Troy. You will need to test the heater in the evaporator assembly DA96-00020Q in the refrigerator side and see if it is bad. It should read closed for continuity. If it is open, the evaporator will need to be replaced. You can test this with a multi-meter MA-DM1. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
