For Samsung Refrigerator Main Control Board (Part Number: OEM12423888)

Rob B. for Model Number rs2556shxaa

Two problems my display board does not display correct internal temperature, only works when power is manually shut off and on with circuit breaker. With this problem is a frozen lower three inches of evaporator which has to be manually defrosted by external use of heater.Samsung tech replaced freezer fan motor and ice shutoff micro switch ,and tested compressor. He also broke ice maker mounting tabs causing improper positioning of ice maker with water splashing all over freezer. I pushed ice maker back into position but retainers are broke this is another problem for another day.I will never use thi s Samsung tech again. This defrost process has to be repeated once weekly. At wits end. Im a auto mechanic please tell me which part controls display and defrost function Thanks rob

Chuck for Model Number Samsung RS267 TDRS XAA

Hi, our Samsung side by side refrigerator is only 14 months old and the freezer side of the fridge has quit working. The fridge side seems to be working fine and maintaining a temperature of about 38 degrees. The temperature of the freezer seems to be at about the same temperature as the fridge. I'm assuming the fridge is maintaining this temperature. Any thoughts on what could be going on? I'm really disappointed that a 14 month old fridge has broken down already.

Chuck, You will want to pull the rear cover in the freezer compartment and check for heavy ice or frost build up. If there is heavy ice or frost build up then you will need to check the defrost heater to make sure that it is not bad and check the thermistor. If faulty then it would need to be replaced.

Zaid, The fans should be operating off of 12 vdc and if they are only getting 6 vdc then the control board is not sending correct power and you would need new main control board DA41-00104M.

James for Model Number rs269lars

I've replaced the water inlet valve and icemaker. The temp in the freezer is fine, but the icemaker is slow to harvest ice. The ice will sit frozen in the tray for hours. I reset the icemaker. It dumped the ice, but never refilled with water. I have good water flow and a new inlet valve. My model has a filter unit attached to the inlet valve - could this be the issue or is it possible that the control board is bad? Even if the temp is good, could a bad thermostat keep the icemaker from harvesting the ice in the tray?

1 Answer

Hello James, If the icemaker is not filling you will want to check the fill tube to make sure that it is not frozen. Also you will want to check the board to make sure that it is reading the thermistor on the icemaker properly.

Hello Lou, This is a power control issue. The PCB will require replacement. You should verify the complete model number off of the I.D. tag for the exact part number. As an example, the DA41-00524A is for the RSG257AAWP/XAA. You can call in (1-877-477-7278) if you would like one of our representatives to look up the number for you.

Hello Kyle, The first thing that I would check is the evaporator sensor DA32-10105R for the refrigerator section. If it checks out good then you would want to check the thermal fuse DA47-10148J. When you remove the evaporator cover if it is one of these parts you will have a block of ice on evaporator. If there is a block of ice and these parts are both good then it would be the heater which is part of evaporator DA96-00020Q

Hi. Check at the main control board part # DA41-00104M with the volt meter. Check Connector CN30 on pins 7-6 Gry- brn wires R Sensor part # DA97-01293D for 2.4-2.8 vdc. If you do not have the board output then replace it. Remove the connector (turn off unit first). Ohm out these 2 - same pins for 10,000 ohms resistance. Thank You.

Vijay for Model Number Samsung side by side refrigerator model: rs253basb (twin cooling)

I have Samsung side by side refrigerator model: rs253basb (twin cooling). The freezer section is working perfectly fine. The refidgerator section is also feels cool but looks much higher than the set temperature. After evey three or four days I see the refrige side struggling to maintain the temperature, the temperature on the front digital panel starts blinking. I can feel the refrigerator has gone warm, the food, especially milk is going bad. This warm temperature stays there for half a day or so.. afterwards the it starts cooling itself on its own I do feel it cold but still warmer than than the set temperature. Pl. tell me what's wrong with it and what part would it require to fix it.

1 Answer

Hello Adrian, When the power surged, it very possibly could have caused damage to the main board. It is doubtful that a power surge could have caused any damage to the thermistors so, I would suspect the board.
