The amount of water being dispensed into the ice cube tray was excessive, causing overflow of the tray. The water then ran into the collection bin and even down the side walls of the freezer creating a huge block of ice in the bin, and ice all over the lower shelves as well. The excessive build up of ice caused the cube tray to crack and also split the little silicone water grommet that connects to the water delivery tube which directs water into the cube tray. The start button had been tricky to use. You had to push it in just a certain way to get the dryer to start. Eventually it was non-responsive. All other controls worked and there was no error code displayed. The repair was to replace the whole control board which cost around $100. Heavy sigh.. Be sure to keep track of all your screws. Removed upper frig & lower freezer back evaporator covers to get to the frost buildup on the evaporator assembly. I then used a paint stripper heat gun to melt the ice build up caution should be used to keep the gun moving around as not to damage Wires,Eva,Sensor's. After reading stories on this website I decided the problem was probably the control board. I ordered the sensors also just in case. The display has been dim for awhile so I got that also. I replaced the board and the display in less than an hour. It is working perfectly now so I never installed the sensors. I believe the board was ruined by a recent power outage. Tested the refrigerator evaporator fan and it would not run. Ordered evaporator motor and fan blade just in case. I went ahead and replaced sensor just as a preventive measure. Did not take long. forgot to order fan clip, but was able to salvage old one. Works Great. Read more
