Steveg October 15, 2017 for Model Number RS265TDRS/xaa the ref. side of my refrigerator side is icing up, I removed the fan panel and thawed the ice build up. this has been a common problem since the ref. was 3 years old, I have ordered a temperature sensor hoping this will solve the problem; any suggestions?? SteveG
1 Answer SteveG, You would also want to check the wiring connections or replace the defrost heater assembly DA47-00322J The wiring connections could be retaining moisture or ice, causing the contacts to separate and no power is applied to the heater element. The heater assembly has the hi limit thermostat molded into the assembly, if the thermostat is defective, the same issue will occur. Read More...
Gary August 13, 2016 for Model Number RS267LBSH/XAA-0000 Problem: Refrigerator side heating up, not staying cold. Replaced the whole evaporator/heater assy that comes with Thermistor sensor and new Temp sensor. Not much left inside to replace. Evaporator still Icing up, drain is not plugged. I purchased the parts from Appliance Pros so they are good. Any ideas? Tired of taking apart the fridge and defrosting it. Thanks for the help in advance.
1 Answer Gary, With the evaporator still icing up then the issue will most likely be caused by a failed main control board which is part number DA41-00396G. Read More...
Miguel D July 01, 2016 for Model Number RS261MDBP/XAA My freezer door is working fine but my right door keeps freezing. I've adjusted the temperature setting but it continues to freeze. Will changing the sensor fix my problem?
1 Answer Miguel, It would be recommended to test the sensor for resistance and it should have a 5k ohms reading at room temp of 77 degrees. If the sensor test ok then the issue would most likely be with the control board. Read More...
Jason June 01, 2016 for Model Number RS265TDRS Freezer works maintains -2 degrees fridge will not go below 58 coils clean fan running in back of lower unit.
1 Answer Hello Jason. You will need to check for a defrost issue in the fresh food evaporator. It sounds like you may have a defrost problem with the unit. Check and see if there is any frost build up on the evaporator coils in the freezer. If so, you will need to test the defrost heater and the defrost thermostat. They should read closed for continuity when cold. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. I will include a link at the end to assist you how to use the multi-meter if needed. If both parts are good, you will need to replace the main board. Once the problem is repaired, you will need to thaw out the ice on the coils before the unit will operate properly. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...

Ketan December 16, 2015 I have Samsung Refrigerator RSG257 Two Door. Ice clumps in the Ice bucket after few hours and it does not dispense Ice because of clumping..
1 Answer Ketan, You will want to check to make sure that the icemaker is not overflowing when it fills with water. If it is overflowing then the issue will most likely be a water valve that is sticking open and would need to be replaced. Read More...
Stefon June 25, 2015 for Model Number Samsung rs265tdrs Freezer works fine. Refrigerator side makes loud fan noise. Noise stop when door open. Frost/ice build up inside back panel of refrigerator. Unplugged, let refrigerator thawed out worked good for about five weeks then same problem returns?
1 Answer Hello Stefon. You need to check and see if the thermo fuse DA47-00301B is bad in the unit. Read More...
Nick P June 13, 2015 for Model Number RSG257AAWP/XAA My Samsung refridgerator stopped running today. The fan and lights are on, compressor cool. Behind one of the fridge bottom drawers 2 white lights stay on. I unplugged the start relay and overload, checked for open windings. Put it back together, looked o.k. when I plugged back in no lights or fan now. Is there any resets that could be keeping everything off now?
1 Answer Nick, There is no reset on the control board. If there were lights and fan previously but not now would most likely be a control board issue. This would also be the cause for the compressor to no run. Read More...
Raechelle June 10, 2015 for Model Number RS261MDRS/XAA The fridge side stopped cooling. Temperature inside was 60 degrees. Also, the freezer side makes a lot of noise until you open the door, and there is a lot of snow-like frost built up behind the ice bin.
1 Answer Hello Raechelle. The issue in the freezer is what is affecting the fresh food. You need to look for a leaking door seal on the unit. It is getting hot air into the freezer and causing the frost build up. Also, check the dispenser for a broken door flap not closing. Melt all the frost away and the fresh food should start working on the unit. Read More...
Matt May 11, 2015 for Model Number RS2545SH Freezer works fine fridge does not cool any longer and digital display seems erratic on front but temp in fridge remains a constant 50ish degrees. Was thinking possibly the temp sensor?
1 Answer Matt, You will want to pull the rear wall of the refrigerator compartment and check the frost pattern of the evaporator in the refrigerator. Check to see if the coils are impacted with ice. If they are then test the sensor which should have a resistance reading of 5K ohms at 77 degrees. If this sensor is outside this range then it is defective. If it checks ok then test the defrost heater for continuity, no continuity means it is faulty. Read More...
