Larry November 11, 2016 for Model Number samsung rfg298hdwp We came home to a flooded kitchen floor from water from the fridge. The ice was all melted all other features were working. I've replaced the ice maker but it does not make ice. The test button chimes indicate that it is operational. There is no water in the tray. Where is the Water Inlet Valve located, do you have directions that comes with the valve?
1 Answer Larry, The water inlet valve would be located on the back of the unit. If the icemaker cycles then the water valve would be the most likely cause for this issue. Pull the unit out and remove the cover on the lower back of the unit to expose the water valve. Read More...

Harlan September 18, 2016 for Model Number RFG298HDBP/XAA-0000 When I use the water on the door or the ice maker fills with water the water line will pulsate or it viberates. It's it the water valve that is faulty and how do I replace it and where is it located?
1 Answer Harlan, This issue would have to do with either the water valve or the filter head. The only way to get these would be to get the water tank which is part number DA97-11435A. Read More...
Jeff September 07, 2016 for Model Number Samsung RFG297 Hi, We have the common issue of water pouring out of the ice maker. We had to end up shutting the water off. What I have read is that they don't make the part any longer. Am wondering if you know what the issue is, and if you have the part. Thanks for any help or guidance you can provide. -Jeff

James August 16, 2016 for Model Number RFG297HDWP/XAA We came home to a flooded kitchen floor from water from the fridge. The ice was all melted all other features were working. I've replaced the ice maker but it does not make ice. The test button chimes indicate that it is operational. There is no water in the tray. What should I do next?
1 Answer James, Try to press the test button on the icemaker and see if the icemaker cycles. If it does but does not bring water in then the likely cause would be a water valve that stuck open and the water valve would need to be replaced. Read More...
Tim July 23, 2014 for Model Number Samsung rfg297hdrs We came home to water leaking out of the water filter. Its not leaking now. Have water at the dispenser but not making ice. Also the water tank case is full of water. Would this be a faulty valve?
1 Answer Tim, While the water valve could be faulty and causing the icemaker to no make ice, you will want to check the icemaker itself. First check to see if there is ice that is in the icemaker that has not ejected. If there is then there is a test button on the side of the icemaker, push this and hold it until the icemaker starts. It is possible that the issue could be a faulty motor on the icemaker a faulty heater on the icemaker mold or a bad control board not turning the heater on. Read More...
Van November 01, 2013 I have a Samsung Refridgerator RFG29PHDWP/XAA. This morning water started pouring through the ice maker, shut water off, reset ice maker, turn water on and water just flowed right out of the ice maker. Valve, solenoid stuck open?
1 Answer Hello Van. Yes, you will need to replace the water valve on the unit. Make sure the icemaker is not stuck in the fill position. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
John July 07, 2013 for Model Number rf217acpn I'm not getting enough water in my ice maker. Checked water pressure-ok. Disconnected switch from valve & ran test cycle. Only showed voltage for about 4 seconds. Do you think its a bad switch or bad valve?
1 Answer Hello John. Sounds like the valve or the filter is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit. Read More...
Chris October 24, 2012 i have a samsung modelrb195bsbb the water fill valve for the icemaker tests good, but at the solenoid there is no voltageon the wires, there is a sealed diode on the two wires could that be bad it is a .1@120ohms,i get no reading on the ohms scale.
1 Answer Hello Chris, What I would suggest is to put your meter leads on the the fill valve and cycle the icemaker. There is a test switch at the bottom of icemaker to cycle the icemaker. You should get 120 vac at the water valve during the cycling of the icemaker. If you do not then you would need to replace icemaker head DA97-00258E. If there is voltage at valve then replace valve DA62-00930A Read More...
John June 28, 2012 for Model Number Samsung RS195BSBB Hit the test button on the icemaker and it runs thru cycle and fills with water. Everything looks good until the ice freezes then nothing further happens. I don't hear the icemaker cycling on it own. Tested the valve as suggested and get a 124v reading. Is my problem the controls unit on the top or still the valve? Frig says the icemaker is on.
1 Answer Hello John. The model number you provided is not working, but based on the information you provided, the icemaker assembly is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit. Read More...
