For Whirlpool Agitator Bolt (Part Number: OEM18026187)

Tom for Model Number 11027831600

Great Videos I am having an agitator issue where The plastic cam container with the attached spring has a hole on the side from the screw rubbing up against the container wall the washer is all chewed up from the bolt not seated in the shaft and believe the bolt backed out due the blue thread seal is gone off of the bolt thread. so each time i think the bolt is tightened down i fill the washer it will agitate the upper but the bolt becomes loose even though it is not stripped anywhere along the thread noticing the bolt is submerged in water inside the agitator..agitator would work for 15 seconds before it would stop ..is there any thing needed on the shaft inside where that bolt screws down into i didnt notice visible threads there...so I will need a bolt with t hat threaded seal and the repair kit do I need that piece to lock down the dogs for this particular unit' Thanks

Hello Richard. You should be able to tighten all the way down and still turn the agiataor freely.

Diane G for Model Number LSQ8243HQO

In delicate cycle spin it made a loud sludge hammer noise and it shook like crazy. It washes great but when the spin cycle starts to increase in speed it acts like it's very off balance, so we have to shut it down...ring by hand, and hang out to drip dry...it rains almost every day so...HELP!!!! We found two pins that were in little clear catcher cases, so I reinstalled them and use cottor pins to hold them in place. When we put things back together it was better, but still shakes rattles and rolls in spin cycle...HELP...still washed great, but still had to ring them out by hand. Diane

Diane, First, you need to remove the pins you installed, They are for shipping purposes only and are extracted and fall into the plastic cup when the installer installs the washer and removes the shipping straps. You then need to check and make sure the washer is level and the rear self leveling and locking rear feet "lock" into place(raise the rear of the washer a few inches off the floor, and let it drop back down) , You then want to remove the cabinet and check the skid plate and base pads, to make sure the washer didn't slide off the plates and is locked in place and not moving freely. But you should notice more movement in the regular hi spin speed cycle ?

Hello Ed, You would not want to put loctite on the bolt. You would need to replace the transmission 3360629 of the unit.

Sun, Holding the bottom portion os the agitator won't help, It could be "stripped" out, cracked, etc. The agitator bolt screws into the agitator shaft, if you can turn it counterclockwise and it's loose, That indicates one of two things, The agitator bolt is atripped, and you'll need to cut it off and use an "easy out" to remove it. or the transmission shaft is broken in the gearcase, then you'd need a transmission 3360629 . Thanks

Richard, The "O" ring, won't be necessary if you use the new agitator bolt WP358237 ( you should use it, it's an "upgrade"). as for the "vaseline" you will use it to lubricate both sides of the "dogs" 80040 and the thrust washer 285587and cam assembly, so they move freely. Thanks,

John, A loose agitator bolt would not be the issue, it could be loose, but shouldn't cause a washer to shake and vibrate. Are you sure the washer is level and the floor under the washer is solid, and the feet are all "locked" in place. You will need to remove the washer cabinet and check all the centerring springs 285901, slide pads 285219 and frame and plate for damage or wear and tear. Thanks and Good Luck

Hello Calvin. They make a special tool to remove stripped bolts. You will need to get one of those to remove the bolt WP358237 from the agitator. Hope this helps.
