Brenda M. September 12, 2015 for Model Number MVWX600XW0 My washer will go through the sensing then the door lock light will start flashing. Have to stop & unplug the washer. The lid will still not open & when I plug it back in the light is still flashing but the lid is finally unlocked. It goes through the same thing after sensing it will just sit there and a motor runs, no water coming in, door lock light is blinking & I have to turn it off, motor still running, door lock still blinking until I unplug it. Finally after doing this 3 or 4 times, will get it to wash then it will not rinse. Sits there, taking time off the clock, door lock flashing until I push stop, unplug machine, plug it back in, turn the knob to rinse & drain and finally get a load of clothes done.
1 Answer Hello Brenda, You will need to pull the tech sheet and put the unit into the service diagnostic mode. This will enable you to pull the fault codes which will lead you to the issue. If the unit will not go into the diagnostic mode, the control will have to be replaced. Read More...
Norma D. September 10, 2015 for Model Number WTW4800XQ4 My washer makes noises and moves when spinning.
1 Answer Hello Norma, These units are very particular with the leveling of the unit. It will need to be properly leveled with a bubble level, and each of the four feet should support the units' weight equally. Also, the clothes should be put into the unit one garment at a time and laid around the agitator as put in. If these measures do not correct the issue, you may need to look closely at the floor since it can provide some "bounce" if not solid. Read More...
Deano September 08, 2015 for Model Number RTW4640YQ1 Washer will drain water, tub will spin, but in the wash cycle the agitator does not work.
1 Answer Hello Deano. You need to check and see if the shift actuator has came off the post on under the unit. If not, then check for broken cams W10721967. If they are good, replace the gear box on the unit. Read More...
Donna August 30, 2015 for Model Number MVWX700XL0 As soon as I start a load and the drum spins while sensing the load it quickly stops and lid lock flashes. Tried to run diagnostics and it will run thru until time to spin and same thing happens stops and lid lock blinks. I put it on drain and spin it worked all the way thru, tried rinse and spin and no luck , went and tried drain and spin again and it didnt work the second time. I had stored codes of F7 E1, F0 E0. Please help only 1 yr old
1 Answer Donna, The F0 E0 just indicates no more errors. The F7 E1 is a basket speed sensor failure. This fault is displayed when control cannot determine the speed of the basket or it changes too rapidly. You will want to check for a locked rotor or check to make sure that the basket, impeller and motor can rotate freely. Check all the harness connections from main control to motor and shifter. If this checks ok then on the tech sheet do test number 3A on page 13 for the drive system. Most likely this will end up being a shifter issue. The part number for the shifter will be WPW10006355. Renaldo August 17, 2015 for Model Number WTW5600XW0 I ran the diagnostic mode and it came up F7 E5 code. What does this mean? What needs to be replaced?
1 Answer Renaldo, The error code indicates an issue in the wiring or shift actuator WPW10006355 " F7 E5 SHIFTER FAULT Fault is displayed when the main control cannot determine position of shifter. • Check harness connections from main control to motor and shifter.• Observe shifter operation." If the wires and connections all check OK, replace the shift actuator. Read More...
Bryan August 10, 2015 for Model Number WTW4950XW3 My washer does not spin out the clothes at the spin cycle or it is possible that it does spin out the clothes then does not switch from SPIN to DONE. Since it did not switch to DONE it again adds water to the load and then either switches to DONE or just sits at the SPIN cycle and does not continue. I also noticed that in the SPIN cycle the UNLOCK light is no longer ON.
1 Answer Bryan, You will want to get the tech sheet from the control panel of the unit and put the unit through a diagnostic cycle. You will check to see if there are any stored error codes which will lead to the source of the issue. Read More...
Cyndy August 01, 2015 for Model Number 110.21102011 My washer has a terrible musty smell and we cant figure out what it is im thinking maybe water isn't draining out all the way and is sitting in the bottom when you move washing machine you can hear a little water sloshing around my father said he thinks the hose isn't in the right position for all the water to drain out the washing machine guy that delivered it put the hose where I assumed it was suppose to be . Do you think this might be it?
1 Answer Cyndy, There will be a water sound as the balance ring of the inner tub has a solution in it but will not make it smell musky. There will be very little water at the bottom of the tub that stays in there but what you will want to do is put a cup of vinegar in the unit and run a clean cycle with the hottest water possible. A clean cycle can just be a normal wash. In most cases what the smell is would be caused by detergent residue from previous washes. It is good to run a unit that is not run daily or without bleach at least 1 time a month through a cleaning cycle with vinegar to get the most of the residue out. Read More...
Jim July 10, 2015 What does the shift actuator do? How do I know if it is defective? Our washer was not spinning. I replaced the drive belt and lid lock, but it still does not work. I checked the codes and it came up F7E1. Anytime it starts to spin, it clicks, stops and the lid light flashes red.
1 Answer Hello Jim. It shifts the unit between spin and agitate. You will see if it has came off the lever post and if not, you will check and make sure it moves between agitate and spin. Read More...
