Lana E April 30, 2015 for Model Number 110.21302012 My Kenmore washer performs well through the wash cycle. However, at the beginning of the rinse cycle, there is a loud, intermittent grinding noise for the first 10 to 15 seconds. This grinding then stops, but occurs again when the spin cycle begins. I also notice that the spin cycle seems to take longer and longer to complete. What do you suggest?
1 Answer Lana, You will want to pull the inner tub and check the actuator on the unit to make sure that there is no damage to it. It sounds like this would be causing the unit to make the noise. Read More...
Melinda February 13, 2015 for Model Number WTW5700XW0 My whirlpool cabrio. Doesn't spin. Would a shift actuator work? It doesn't fill with water either.
1 Answer Melinda, You will want to check the shifter on the unit to make sure that it is good. The resistance of the motor should be between 14 and 25 ohms of resistance. You can also pull the tech sheet from the control panel and run through the diagnostics and see if there are any error codes. Read More...
Chis February 12, 2015 for Model Number Mvwx700xl2 Hello, I am getting error code F7E1. I already changed the actuator but still getting the same code. The symptoms are as follows: during the rinse cycle it does not spin at full speed for long enough then jumps back to 17 min and rinses again and then never fully spins leaving the clothes wet. Any ideas?
1 Answer Chris, With having already replaced the shifter assembly, the most likely cause for the unit would be that the control board being faulty. You may want to put into diagnostics and try to clear error codes and see if this corrects the issue and if not then the control board would need to be replaced. Read More...
Boshie January 14, 2015 for Model Number 110.20022011 I have a Kenmore Washer Model 11020022011. When I start the load to wash I hear a few clicks then the tub spins for a second then stops after that it fills with water..After putting cloths in to wash it does nothing. I hear the motor on but still no wash. And after a while it does everything it suppose to do and when it comes to the Rinse cycle it still won't wash but it drains fine and Spins perfect. So can someone HELP me and tell me what problem that sounds like..?
1 Answer Boshie, There are two possibilities and they are both in the same area (the bottom of the gearcase). The WPW10006355 shift actuator assembly moves or shifts the gear lever between agitate and spin, it seems to be the weakest link in the system at present. Then there's the splutch assembly W10721967 This is the assembly that actually drives the agitate and spin shaft, it could be damaged or deformed and the agitate cam isn't engaging the gears to make the washer agitate. If you raise the front of the washer, you should find the tech data sheet attached to the inside of the front cabinet. If you retrieve the information and conduct the error/diagnostic codes and perform the automatic or manual function tests, you'll have a better idea of the issue and can target where to start. Gail December 29, 2014 for Model Number MVWC200XW1 Lid lock flashing-washer will not start-diagnostic led not on-if i unplug wire harness going to shift actuator -the diagnostic led comes on-does this mean shift actuator is bad?
1 Answer Gail, With the diagnostic led coming on after disconnecting the harness for the shift actuator then it most likely means that the actuator is faulty. Read More...
Michael December 01, 2014 for Model Number WTW4850XQ0 we are experiencing spin problems. sometimes it spins slower, and then spins faster but not very long. Clothes are still very wet . At the beginning of the cycle, the machine sits there sensing for a long time.
1 Answer Michael, For this issue it sounds like the optics for the speed control on the actuator motor may have failed and the shift actuator would need to be replaced. Read More...
Mark November 28, 2014 for Model Number mvwx600xw0 Hi, Washer gets stuck on "sensing" with lid lock flashing. Went in diagnostic mode and did the following: 1. Cleared previous errors 2. Ran auto test - F1 E2 error 3. Ran manual test - all functions worked properly (fill, drain, spin, agitate). 4. Reseated connections on control board. Does this error indicate I need a control board or is the motor going bad (or something entirely different)?
1 Answer Hello Mark. MOTOR CONTROL FAULT f1 e2. Indicates a fault of the motor control section of the main control. You will need to replace the control board. Read More...
Ian November 19, 2014 for Model Number MVWX600XW0 Lid lock light flashes intermittently, washer stops at 12 minutes before starting drain/spin. Unplug and manually start at drain/spin cycle usually gets going but stops with 1 minute showing. Did fault test and saw F1 E2, CL, F7 E6. What parts need repacing?
1 Answer Hello Ian. MOTOR CONTROL FAULT f1 e2. Indicates a fault of the motor control section of the main control. MOTOR FAULT f7 e6 Indicates an open clockwise or counterclockwise circuit of the motor. It sounds like the motor W10836348 is failing on the unit. Read More...
Sam November 12, 2014 for Model Number MVWC400XW1 The lid is not locking fill and lid LED comes on when you press start. than lid red LED flashes. I have changed the lid switch it does the same. what could be the problem ? . thank you
1 Answer Sam, If the WPW10006355 shift actuator is in the wrong position, or the RPS inside the assembly is not supplying the proper information to the control board, the lid latch can malfunction and not lock and will cause the flashing LED. The actuator is located underneath the tubs, on the Gearcase assembly. Check and make sure there are no loose connections at the shift actuator, if all's OK, replace the actuator. Read More...
Jason October 16, 2014 for Model Number whirlpool cabrio When I start my washer machine the lid will lock and then it starts sensing. A minute or two later the unlocks and then locks again. It will do this once or twice then the solenoid for the lid lock makes some crazy noise like it's stuck. The machine stops working when this happens. We have to unplug it to get it reset. We have replaced the lid latch a few days ago with no change. It's to the point now where it does it every time and won't work know.
1 Answer Hello Jason. It sounds like either the valve or the board is bad. You will need to check both of them. We will need your model number to help you more with this. Please call 1-877-477-7278 or post your model number with a new question on the parts page. http://www.appliancepartspros.com/modelnumber_locator.aspx Read More...
