1 Answer Wesley, Yes you're on track. The actuator WPW10006355 is the more common issue for spin and lid lock issues for this style washer. You'll also want to check and make sure there are no loose wires or connections at the actuator and control board, first. Not only does the actuator control the direction of the agitator and tub, it also has internal sensors that control the motor speed and rpm's and informs the machine control board what the washer is doing. If the inputs from the sensor are incorrect for what the machine control board is looking for, the control "shuts down" and usually displays an error code and unlocks the lid. Charlie October 13, 2013 for Model Number Maytag MVWC400XW4 Washer is inoperative. When electrical power is supplied, the green LED on main control board illuminates, Lid Latch 'clicks' many times, and the red Lid Locked lamp flashes. Lid Latch did lock on one occasion (after removing electrical power from washer several times) and the red 'Locked Lamp' remained illuminated steady. Pressing the 'Start/Pause/Unlock' button has no effect. Am not able to access any of the self-test functions per the service manual found hidden between front case and tub. You will want to check the lid latch to make sure that it is not being impeded by the lid being warped or the hinges being loose. Leann C October 09, 2013 for Model Number MVWC400XW1 I have a Maytag Centennial Washer. When I press start, the lid locks, sensor light comes on, makes a noise, lid lock light flashes off and on, then nothing else happens. Disconnected and connected all wires underneath and at the top. Checked belt. Could not get Diagnostic Test to activate. Also, tried unplugging overnight, but same thing happened when plugged back in. Once, water started coming in the basket when the lid was left opened.

John October 07, 2013 I bought a new sears washer and right after the factory warranty expired it stopped spinning and left the clothes soaked. It would fill and drain but no agitation or spinning. I called a local repairman and he replaced the W10006355 actuator. 6 months later the same thing, and now 3 months later it is doing it again. What could be causing the actuator to be failing so quickly?

Mike October 01, 2013 for Model Number whirlpool wtw4950xw Hello, My washer will lock, sense for a few seconds then unlock itself. It then locks back and senses. It will sense and fill for about 10 min. It then will wash but wont rinse. it just senses in the rinse mode for awile. it then stops and unlocks with the wash light lit. It will drain in spin in the "drain and spin" mode. Any ideas?
