Questions & Answers

For Whirlpool Latch (Part Number: OEM18028227)

1 Answer

Hi DD. The latch part #WP4451424 may be overheating if the oven cooling fan has failed, part # WPW10016550 or it is not running due to bad connections or no voltage feeding it from the main control board part # 8302985. If the cooling fan shrouds are bent or anything not allowing the air to flow from the bottom vent grill (plugged) then this may be the issue. Are the clock led's lighting up ? Thank You.

Jarret, You will need to work "blind" and use a small rachet and socket to remove the screws holding the latch to the oven top assembly, behind the vent cover. Then remove the two screws holding the latch assembly to the front flange of the oven cavity. Thanks and Good Luck
