Matt April 02, 2013 for Model Number LXR9445JQ0 The ring will not go on all the way. Is there a trick to getting it on?
1 Answer Hello Matt. You may need to remove the inner basket from the unit and place it on the floor. Then use a rubber mallet and tap the balance ring onto the tub assembly. Be careful not to break anything while doing this. Read More...
Wes Y December 07, 2012 for Model Number Whirlpool Washer JXR7244JQ1 I need to change the Ring Balancer, or at least check it and its clips. How do I 1) remove the top cover to get to the balancer OR is there a reference manual somewhere? 2) check to see if the balancer is working ok? What would the balancer look like if it were not working correctly? 3) how many clips is the balancer supposed to have? I think I see two Thanks.
1 Answer Hello Wes, There are 2 different ways to get the control panel off. 1st is by releasing 2 screws at the back of the control panel. The second is releasing 2 clips that are under the ends of the control panel. Once you have control panel off then you would disconnect the lid switch and release the 2 clips holding the back of unit to the cabinet. Take cabinet off and this will expose the tub assembly. The ring would have broken clips or maybe a hole in it if it is bad. Read More...
Jim Mac November 24, 2012 for Model Number TAWB600PQ0 I need to replace the ring balancer part number 3956205. I have the washer cabinet dismantled and now need to remove the old part from the drum. How do the clips holding it to the inside drum release? I saw in another post that the new ring will come with clips. Thank you. Jim
1 Answer Jim, Once you have access to the spin basket(tub cover removed) It's easiest if you use a screwdriver to press in on the plastic retainer tabs, and lift up on the tub balance ring. It can be tricky, there's not a lot of play between the tub and ring, and the ring has a tendency to drop back down and the retainer locks back in. Read More...
Ryan November 08, 2011 for Model Number TAWB600LQ0 My washing machine vibrates badly during the spin cycle, even without any clothes in it. My suspension springs appear ok, but I ordered replacements anyway. During my testing I removed this balancing ring from my washer and the empty tub spun well balanced. The balancing ring sloshes like the fluid is still sealed inside, but whenever it is in place the washer is off balance. Do I need to replace this part, or does it only work for balancing when there are clothes in the machine?
1 Answer Hello Ryan. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the suspension spring WPW10250667 on the back of the machine may not be installed to the lower frame and the floater plate. Check and make sure it is installed correctly. If so, you may have a bad balance ring WP3956205. Hope this helps. Read More...
