Joey January 22, 2012 for Model Number wfw8300sw02 My front load washer leaks through buttom of tub n front door. When washing and spining would that mean it needs a new door boot?
1 Answer Hi Joey.Open the front door and inspect the boot for rips at the bottom or sides. It is common that if the unit was overloaded (poss. tennis shoes) the boot can rip. The boot part # is WPW10111435. The rear boot clamp is part # WP8540108.It also is needed since they only work well enough one time. Now you can remove the lower panel and see where the leak is coming from in case it is not the boot. If a hose may have leaked. Inspect the lower inside of the door glass to see if anything has dried or scratched the glass to allow it to leak. Thank You. Read More...

Phil August 22, 2011 for Model Number 110.47512602 One of your answers mentioned weep holes on the bottom but in the picture it looks like there are holes in the top and bottom. What is the difference? Are the boots marked top and bottom? Thanks. Phil
1 Answer Hello Phil. The weep holes in the bottom are for draining the water back into the tub assembly. There are usually three holes in the bottom of the door boot WPW10111435. The large hole in the top of the boot is for the dispenser to attach to. You can tell the bottom of the boot, by the three weep holes in it. Hope this helps. Read More...
Mharrison July 20, 2011 for Model Number WFW8500SR01 My washer is leaking! The water is coming from the front door. If I order this boot seal will it solve the problem? Is this an easy repair? Can I replace it without having a repairmen do it?
1 Answer Hello Mharrison. If the door boot is torn and is leaking, you will need to replace the boot WPW10111435. To do this, 1. Unplug washer or disconnect power. 2. Turn off the water supply to the washer. 3. Remove the top cover and the console. 4. Remove the lower front access panel. 5. Open the washer door. 6. Using a small screwdriver or a pair of long-nosed pliers, pull the tension spring on the retaining wire out from around the front of the bellows, and remove the wire. 7. To remove the door switch assembly: a) Pull the bellows off the lip of the front panel beside the door switch assembly just enough to access the switch assembly. b) Remove the two T-20 Torx screws from the door switch assembly. c) Pull the door switch assembly out and turn it over so that you can access the connectors. d) Unlock the tabs and disconnect the three wire connectors from the door switch terminals, then remove the assembly. 8. To remove the bellows: a) Remove the two T-20 Torx screws from the door switch assembly. b) Remove the front panel from the washer. c) Turn the bellows retaining clamp screw counterclockwise until the clamp is loose enough to remove it from around the bellows. NOTE: It may be necessary to completely remove the screw from one end of the clamp. d) Remove the bellows retaining clamp from around the bellows. e) Pull the bellows off the front of the tub. REASSEMBLY NOTE: When you reinstall the bellows, be sure to position the “weep holes” at the bottom. Read More...
1 Answer Hello. You will need to remove the top panel, then remove the control panel. Open the door and remove the boot spring and boot from the front panel, and remove the front panel. Once the front panel is removed, you will see a band around the back of the bellow. Remove this band, and reinstall in reverse order. Hope this helps. Read More...
