1 Answer Hello Robert. Look for a burnt or broken wire and make sure there is 240 volts at the terminal block on the unit as well. Read More...
Fred V January 12, 2013 for Model Number Kenmore HE3 The dryer stops working and I can unplug the cord and wait a few minutes and it will start back up. A tech said it was the main power board but I replaced it and it does the same thing. I put the original one back in. I was checking the continuity of the cord and then from the block to the board. When I check the ground or the power on the power on the right I am getting some continuity across those 2 terminals. When the dryer is running it is acting erratic ie end of cycle buzzer going off continuiously. Will the bleeding across the block cause this?
1 Answer Hello Fred, You will want to check to make sure that your motor is good. The cycle buzzer is in the main board but gets signal from the motor. Check the windings to make sure that you dont have a winding shorting out. Check from terminal 4 to ground, terminals 4 to 5 and terminals 4 to 6. Read More...
Josh January 26, 2012 for Model Number cedx631vq1 It is a Crosley dryer. It is not do anything. I contacted an appliance dealer and he said to try the terminal block. The part number is: AP3064207. Could you let me know if this would be the problem?
1 Answer Hello Josh. You will need to check and see if the thermal fuse WP3392519 or the door switch WP3406105 is bad on the unit. They should read closed for continuity. You can look and see if the terminal block is burnt on the back of the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Tommie December 07, 2011 for Model Number res7646kq Dryer stop working all togather. I have check out everything possible and seem to be in good working order. What else can I do?
1 Answer Hello Tommie. You will need to test the door switch WP3406107 and make sure it reads closed for continuity. Also, the thermal fuse WP3392519 needs to read closed for continuity. If either one of these parts are bad, the dryer will not start or run. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. David C. October 12, 2011 for Model Number kenmore dryer about 10 years old. Trying to fix dryer for my sister in law. She says its spins but does not heat up. I looked at heating element but it looks ok. Then I found the red wire that is connected to the thermal block was a little "crispy" and where it connects to the thermal block was melted. If I replace the thermal block and rewire where it is burned do you think this will fix the dryer, and will it be safe? I'm thinking she did not have the wires tightened down correctly. Thank you!
1 Answer Hello David. Yes, if the wires and the terminal block are burnt, the unit is only getting 120 volts AC and does not heat. It will run on 120 volts. You will need to replace all the burnt components and the unit should heat properly if it is getting 240 volts AC. Hope this helps. Read More...
