Symptoms of a bad terminal block include:

  • The dryer not heating up properly or failing to achieve the desired temperature
  • Components like lights or timers not functioning
  • Strange buzzing or humming noises coming from the dryer

Causes of terminal block failure can be worn or damaged wiring terminals, loose connections due to normal vibration, or corrosion buildup over several years of use.

This terminal block is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and select Kenmore dryer models.

Please note: Please note that this part does not include the wires, screws, and nuts. They must be ordered separately. For the complete block assembly use 279320.

Fred V for Model Number Kenmore HE3

The dryer stops working and I can unplug the cord and wait a few minutes and it will start back up. A tech said it was the main power board but I replaced it and it does the same thing. I put the original one back in. I was checking the continuity of the cord and then from the block to the board. When I check the ground or the power on the power on the right I am getting some continuity across those 2 terminals. When the dryer is running it is acting erratic ie end of cycle buzzer going off continuiously. Will the bleeding across the block cause this?

Answer

Hello Fred, You will want to check to make sure that your motor is good. The cycle buzzer is in the main board but gets signal from the motor. Check the windings to make sure that you dont have a winding shorting out. Check from terminal 4 to ground, terminals 4 to 5 and terminals 4 to 6.
