1 Answer Hello Ivory. It sounds like you may have a defrost problem with the unit. Check and see if there is any frost build up on the back wall of the freezer. If so, you will need to test the defrost heater and the defrost thermostat. They should read closed for continuity when cold. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. I will include a link at the end to assist you how to use the multi-meter if needed. If both parts are good, you will need to replace the defrost timer. Once the problem is repaired, you will need to thaw out the ice on the coils before the unit will operate properly. Juan N Alaniz Sr August 06, 2011 for Model Number msd2454gr We had just use the ice maker from the front panel then about 10 mintues later it started to make a loud snapping noise sound and the light was flashing. I open the door and it stop. But the light stay on. So I took the bulb off. However, we are not able to us ice maker or water from the front panel. The ice maker is working. You are able to switch the buttons from the ice to the water but nothing is working. You do see the light switching from one to the other.
1 Answer Juan, Once you get access to the dispenser control board, I'm pretty sure you'll find a damaged board WP61005274 and door flapper solenoid 12001991 . Here's some help for you to dismantle the dispenser "Ice & Water Fountain Bracket Removal 1. Disconnect the unit from the power source. 2. To remove the grill from the fountain sump, pull straight out. 3. Remove the two escutcheon mounting screws. 4. Carefully raise the escutcheon up and off the fountain assembly. 5. Disconnect the quick disconnect edge connector from the PC fountain switch board. 6. Remove the three fountain bracket mounting screws. 7. Carefully pull the assembly out of the fountain housing. You now have full access to solenoid, dispenser mechanism, PC fountain control board and light socket. 8. To repair the assembly, disconnect electrical quick disconnect. Jumpsteady July 28, 2011 for Model Number MZD2766GEW Ice flapper door is stuck halfway open. I can push it closed but it won't stay closed on its own. Ice and water will not dispense but it is making ice. The fountain panel has power, the lights on it work, you can select ice or water, and you can turn the night light on and off, it just does nothing when you try to get it to dispense ice or water.

Michael July 28, 2011 for Model Number MSD2735GR My ice dispenser is not working. The solenoid was shorted out so I replaced it. Everything is working when I push for ice, except the new solenoid is not retracting. I tested the voltage to the solenoid when the dispenser is pressed but no voltage. Before spending a lot of money on the board, is there a way to test it? All connectors are tight. Thanks.

Cheryl June 22, 2011 for Model Number JCD2389GTB I just replaced the door chute on my ice/water fountain. Everything was working before just needed to replace the door chute because it had broken off. Now the light is on for the water dispense, and it will not change to ice or other selections and even though water light is on the water is not coming out. I have double checked the connections? Could I have shorted out the control board somehow?

Rod May 31, 2011 for Model Number JCD2389GES Both the freezer and frige constantly shut off. There is no ice dam or excessive frost build up. If you jiggle the two sliding temp control the compressor kicks on and it cools for a few hours and then shuts off again. Sliding the controls back and forth will then kick on the compressor for a few more hours. What is causing this?

Dion P. May 23, 2011 for Model Number MSD2754GR* My refrigerator doesn’t make ice and the water dispenser is intermitted. I can hear it click when I press it for a cup of water. Sometimes it will take a minute until it starts pumping, but most the time nothing. I swapped the electrical connectors on the water valves (Red/White and Black/White). Then when I pressed for a cup of water I could hear the water filling up the ice machine, also after 10 or 15 minutes of doing nothing, the water dispenser discharged about 4 to 5 ounces of water into the cup, and then it did it again in another 10 or 15 minutes. I then reconnected the electrical connectors to their original locations. It’s been almost 24 hours and still not providing water to make ice and water dispenser is not pumping water. Not sure which component I’ll need to replace, appreciate all help.
