Von July 30, 2013 for Model Number Whirlpool Duet Ht WFW9400ST00 Hi Guys, another question: I don't have a multimeter and I don't live in the US. Is there another way to check the CCU or MCU? I followed some instructions to run a diagnostic test which also showed the F28 error - it locked the door, a little water tcame in, then after a while the error code displayed. Does running the diagnostic mean that the CCU works? I'm trying to figure out how to eliminate either the CCU or MCU because I don't want to have to buy both parts! Thanks for your help!
1 Answer Hello Von. Only other way is to buy the parts one at a time and see which one clears the code. Sorry, no other way without the meter. Read More...
Von July 29, 2013 for Model Number wfw9400st00 Wife was washing when the washer stopped and displayed F28 error code. I understand that it is a comms error but how do I know if it is mcu, ccu or wiring harness? How do I test the mcu, ccu and wiring harness (if necessary)?
1 Answer Hello Von. If all the wiring looks good and the connections are good, then you start with the CCU and see if power is coming to it and going to the MCU. If not, you need to replace the CCU. If there is power to the MCU and it does not work, replace the MCU on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. 1 Answer Rhene, You will want to check the harness to make sure that they are good. It would be most likely the main control board that is the problem if the connections are good and the connectors are clean. Read More...

Mieczyslaw M January 27, 2013 for Model Number Wfw9600ta01 The motor is not spinning correctly. The clothes do not get rung out properly and are dripping wet when the wash is complete. The clothes are not clean when the wash is done. What parts do I need to look at or get fixed/replaced?
1 Answer Hello Mieczyslaw, You will first want to check the drain to make sure that there is nothing clogged in it. This would include from the bottom of tub, through the drain pump and out the back of unit. Any restrictions will cause the unit to not spin properly. Check the vanes on the drain pump to make sure that they are not damaged or broken. Read More...
Roger November 21, 2012 for Model Number 11047852703 When washer solenoid is activated , F 01 ERROR is displayed. What is the problem and a which part do I need ?
Scott October 17, 2012 for Model Number 461970235781 I have a kenmore elite he5t and the model number that I have doesnt match up anywhere. I keep getting the f11 error code and want to make sure that the mcu replacement part is the correct one for my make and model. Any help would be appreciated.
1 Answer Scott, You're correct, this will be difficult finding parts, and serice information. The model number you supplied is incorrect. If this is a Whirlpool built washer, the model number should start wit 110.*********. Based on the part you listed, and your post description the "F11" error code indicates a communication error between the MCU and the CCU. Check the wiring harness between the motor and the MCU, between the MCU and the CCU, Mkae sure there are no loose connections or bent, damaged pins on the boards. If all's OK, replace the MCU WP8183196. Read More...
Bob September 29, 2012 for Model Number wfw9500tc01 Machine starts and stops, code sud appears, then F-35 appears. How can I remedy this?
1 Answer Hello Bob, The "SUDS" error can be caused by too much detergent, improper detergent, a drain pump/drain line problem (clogged), or pressure switch malfunction. 1. These washers are designed to use High Efficiency detergent which is formulated for wash tubs that use 5 to 7 gallons of water since it is low sudsing. If you are using the correct detergent, double check the label to make sure it is not double (2X) or triple (3X) concentrated. You could still be placing too much soap in your wash. To get rid of excessive detergent, place the washer on a RINSE & SPIN cycle with one tablespoon of corn oil or vegetable oil to kill the suds, and run it through a normal wash cycle with white vinegar to flush the vegetable oil from the unit. 2. If you do not have a detergent issue, double check the drain pump and drain lines to ensure they are not obstructed in any way. Obstructions in the drain pump and/or drain lines can attribute to air getting trapped in the drain pump and cause the error code. Double check all electrical connections to the drain pump and Central Control Unit (CCU). You will need to remove the top panel of the washer to access the CCU. This is accomplished by removing the three screws in the back of the washer that hold the top panel in place. With the screws removed, slide the panel back, then off. The CCU is located directly behind the wash tub in the center of the washer. Read More...
