Hello Jim. It should be constant if the MCU is sending the power back out. It sounds like the mcu WP8183196 may be the problem with the unit. The motor is checking out good. Hope this helps.

Bobby, The "F35" error code indicates an issue in the water level switch or airdome hose that attaches to it WPW10415587. You'll need to remove the top of the washer and unplug the power cord, disconnect the plastic hose from the pressure switch and blow into it, to make sure its clear, has no twists or kinks, etc. Also check the drain pump filter and hose for possible clogs and debris, then replace the switch. I doubt you need a motor, there aren't to many things that go wrong with them. Thanks and Good Luck

Eric R. for Model Number wfw9400sw03

The tech sheet says to be sure the wires are good and the connections are good at the ccu and the mcu. Then to unplug the m13? plug on the ccu. When I did that the code F78 no longer was displayed but a communication failure error code came up. I think the mcu is drawing down the communication link and stopping the washer from doing anything. The first code told me "No Heart Beat" for the ccu. after unplugging the wires from the mcu everything from the user interface control seemed to work (except the motor and pump) but the mcu was unplugged. During the drain/spin cycle after a couple minutes I got a communication failure code again. Seems normal. So is there a way to test the mcu?

1 Answer

Hello Eric. If the code went away and the CCU is good, then according to the tech sheet, the MCU WP8183196 is bad and will need to be replaced. If the drum is rotating, you need to replace the user interface. Hope this helps.

Neil, Yes, you can change the motor control assembly from the front of the washing machine. First, remove power to the washer. Remove the lower front access panel(two screws along the bottom of the access panel) and release and slide the panel down and out to remove. You'll find the assembly mounted to the base of the washer in the left hand front quadrant of the cabinet, remove the wiring harness, release the mounting tabs on the bottom and lift and slide the assembly out. Thanks and Good Luck
