Kimble August 14, 2012 for Model Number MHWE400WW01 Machine is 20 months old. F28 is flashing and the door is locked. Understand this is a communication error code. Have replaced the Microcomputer (w10326458) with no luck in resolving the problem. Would my only other option be to replace the MCU (8183196)?
1 Answer Hello Kimble. Yes, but also make sure the wiring harness is good on the unit. If not, the boards can not communicate. Read More...
Ginger July 18, 2012 for Model Number 11047088600 After installing part 8183196, my machine errors f11. How do we make the boards communicate?
1 Answer Hello Ginger. You need to check for loose or bad connections. If they are all good, you may need to replace the other board as well. Read More...
Ruth Burgess February 22, 2012 for Model Number WFW9500TW01 I have received the replacement part #AP3968010 motor control board form you. My problem is I am having trouble removing the old control board. Thank you.
1 Answer Hello Ruth. You will need to press in on the clips on the connectors to remove the wires from the electronic control WP8183196. They will pull out from the unit then. Hope this helps. Read More...
Jim October 12, 2011 for Model Number wfw9200sq02 This is a follow up question, checked power on mcu at 3.1 and 3.2 there is power there for a quick moment then power drops to zero drive motor does not turn, checked all harness (checked ok) checked motor 6 ohms pins 1-2,2-3,1-3 Question is power at mcu 3.1 and 3.2 to be a constant voltage? over Thanks Jim
1 Answer Hello Jim. It should be constant if the MCU is sending the power back out. It sounds like the mcu WP8183196 may be the problem with the unit. The motor is checking out good. Hope this helps. Read More...
Bobby October 11, 2011 for Model Number WFW9500TC01 I TOOK APART MY WASHER BECUASE IT STARTS TO CYCLE THEN STOPS. NOW A F35 CODE SHOWS UP BUT I THINK ITS BECUASE I HAVE THE BACK PANEL REMOVED. I DONT KNOW WHAT F35 MEANS. I SEE THE MOTOR STRUGGLE TO SPIN THE DRUM I BELIEVE ITS GOING OR GONE OUT ALREADY. DOES THIS SOUND ACCURATE???
1 Answer Bobby, The "F35" error code indicates an issue in the water level switch or airdome hose that attaches to it WPW10415587. You'll need to remove the top of the washer and unplug the power cord, disconnect the plastic hose from the pressure switch and blow into it, to make sure its clear, has no twists or kinks, etc. Also check the drain pump filter and hose for possible clogs and debris, then replace the switch. I doubt you need a motor, there aren't to many things that go wrong with them. Thanks and Good Luck Read More...
Jim October 10, 2011 for Model Number wfw9200sq02 I have a whirlpool duet washer that only beeps when you push the power button. No display alternates between f70,f71 code. When I disconnect m13 at the ccu the unit will power up, door will lock , full display. I checked the harness between the mcu and ccu checks ok. Is there any isolated checks for the mcu, ohm values etc. to pin point this problem?
1 Answer Hello Jim. Test 3.1 and 3.2 on the MCU, and see if there is power there. If not, and the motor does not run, you will need to replace the MCU. if the motor turns and there is power there, you will need to replace the CCU. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Eric R. October 05, 2011 for Model Number wfw9400sw03 The tech sheet says to be sure the wires are good and the connections are good at the ccu and the mcu. Then to unplug the m13? plug on the ccu. When I did that the code F78 no longer was displayed but a communication failure error code came up. I think the mcu is drawing down the communication link and stopping the washer from doing anything. The first code told me "No Heart Beat" for the ccu. after unplugging the wires from the mcu everything from the user interface control seemed to work (except the motor and pump) but the mcu was unplugged. During the drain/spin cycle after a couple minutes I got a communication failure code again. Seems normal. So is there a way to test the mcu?
1 Answer Hello Eric. If the code went away and the CCU is good, then according to the tech sheet, the MCU WP8183196 is bad and will need to be replaced. If the drum is rotating, you need to replace the user interface. Hope this helps. Read More...

Neil September 26, 2011 for Model Number 3000sries mhwe300vw12 can part # 8183196 be replaced from the front of the washer? If so what is the procedure.
1 Answer Neil, Yes, you can change the motor control assembly from the front of the washing machine. First, remove power to the washer. Remove the lower front access panel(two screws along the bottom of the access panel) and release and slide the panel down and out to remove. You'll find the assembly mounted to the base of the washer in the left hand front quadrant of the cabinet, remove the wiring harness, release the mounting tabs on the bottom and lift and slide the assembly out.
