This is an ice maker assembly that is made to be installed on refrigerator and freezer units. This part includes both the ice maker and the housing. The purpose of this part is to make ice that can then be dispensed. In the event that the ice maker is no longer making ice cubes, the ice maker assembly will need to be replaced. Over time, this component could become cracked or broken due to exposure to cold temperatures. Be sure to unplug the refrigerator from the power source before replacing this part. Store any food that could perish in a temperature safe location so that it doesn't go bad during the replacement process.The ice maker is sold individually and sourced straight from the manufacturer. Clay, Unfortunately, there would be no other thermostat that could be used to increase ice production. The icemaker will produce 8 cubes every 1 1/2 to 2 hours. This will be about 96 cubes a day.

Anom, it would be recommended that the ice bin is inspected at the bottom to identify if there is an ice bridge occurring. If there is, the ice would need to be cleared and the door chute inspected for an air leak. If there is not an ice bridge, the next step would be to identify if the microswitch WP2162361 above the ice paddle has continuity when pressed. If not, then it has failed and would need to be replaced.

Hello B.B., This icemaker has crescent-shaped cubes. I'm sorry but without the model number of the refrigerator this unit is installed into, we cannot guess accurately if there is an online filter in the unit. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter.

Doug, In order to adapt this icemaker, you will need to cut out the slot on the side and then use tape to cover the hole on the back of the unit.

Claire, Yes if you order the complete icemaker kit 4396418 will have all the parts of the icemaker needed to install including the harness from the icemaker to the back wall of the freezer where it connects to the refrigerator harness, the mounting screw and clips, the water line and the tubing along with the icemaker and the water valve.
