1 Answer

Hi Deric. This is an updated relay kit. There are instructions included. There are 2-similar overloads given becuuse you need to get the numbers off the compressor ( Ex. - EGY -or- EGU) and when you get the kit apply the number to the corresponding overload listed on the instructions. This is the importance of thye instructions supplied. Kit part # 8201799. Thank you.

Tony for Model Number AP3873993

My refrigerator model is GD25DIXHW02 and recently stopped cooling. After troubleshooting it, I concluded the compressor was not starting. After I looked it up in your site I purchased this part as a replacement for my compressor start device, however, what I received does not quite match the old part. The old part has 3 female prongs that insert right into the three equivalent male prongs sticking out of the compressor. How Do I make this work? Furthermore, the part numbers for the overload devices do not match the ones called for in the instructions. Which one is for a 25 and 27 unit size?

1 Answer

Hello Tony. The white overload goes onto the single compressor post and the relay goes onto the two post that are side by side. You will need to install the overload first, and then the relay. Hope this helps.

Hello Larry. The compressor will not run without the start device, so the refrigerator will not get cold. Hope this helps.
