Deric September 25, 2011 for Model Number ED25UEXHW00 I HAVE A WHIRLPOOL ED25UEXHW00. I AM HAVING TROUBLE DETERMINING WHICH OVERLOAD/START RELAY I NEED. THERE ARE TWO SHOWN AND NEITHER LOOK LIKE THE ONE CURRENTLY INSTALLED.
1 Answer Hi Deric. This is an updated relay kit. There are instructions included. There are 2-similar overloads given becuuse you need to get the numbers off the compressor ( Ex. - EGY -or- EGU) and when you get the kit apply the number to the corresponding overload listed on the instructions. This is the importance of thye instructions supplied. Kit part # 8201799. Thank you. Read More...
Michael September 22, 2011 for Model Number ED25QFXHT00 Whirlpool. I think my start device / relay / overload switches are bad. Or one of them. I notice there is a kit for these, but there are three of them listed. How do I know which one to get? I pretty much want to replace all the parts in that box hanging off the compressor. From what I can see it looks like there is a start device, relay and overload part in there.
1 Answer Hello Michael. Based on the model number you provided, you will need to order 8201799 for the correct kit. Hope this helps. Read More...
Tony June 18, 2011 for Model Number AP3873993 My refrigerator model is GD25DIXHW02 and recently stopped cooling. After troubleshooting it, I concluded the compressor was not starting. After I looked it up in your site I purchased this part as a replacement for my compressor start device, however, what I received does not quite match the old part. The old part has 3 female prongs that insert right into the three equivalent male prongs sticking out of the compressor. How Do I make this work? Furthermore, the part numbers for the overload devices do not match the ones called for in the instructions. Which one is for a 25 and 27 unit size?
1 Answer Hello Tony. The white overload goes onto the single compressor post and the relay goes onto the two post that are side by side. You will need to install the overload first, and then the relay. Hope this helps. Read More...

Lon March 07, 2011 Regarding pt #AP3873993, compressor start device. My old part is a small plastic box aprox 2"x2" that accepts 3 male prongs or pins that is on the side of the compressor. This part pushes onto the compressor. Then two wires w/stakeon connectors connect to this. Part #AP3873993 looks totaly different but may work. Parts breakdown shows 13A, 13b,&16. Are you familiar w/this?
1 Answer Hello. These are not hard to do, and they come with an instruction sheet. Thanks. Read More...
