Wr for Model Number 106.52552100

Greetings, I have kenmore 106.52552100. Seems compressor stopped working and compressor fan stopped running. Found out by the ice on the door turning to liquid and running out the dispenser..... Light in fridge/freezer works and fan in freezer works. I pulled off the relay part 2212194. Shook it and it makes noise. Compressor is cold / room temperature to the touch. Do you think just replacing this part will resolve the issue? Thanks for any info you can provide.

WR, You will want to check to see if there is power getting to the condenser fan motor. If there is not 120 vac at the fan motor then the fan motor will need to be replaced. You would also want to replace the start relay.

Hello Glen, The red wire goes to the terminal marked "L" for line. The white goes to the other terminal. Green always goes to chassis ground, (the compressor housing in this case). If you are using the 2188830 to replace the start relay and overload, you will need to get two 1/8" female spade connectors to crimp onto the ends of the wires. Otherwise you will have a lose connection that will produce a no cool situation. If you do not want to use the crimp on connectors, you will need to use the relay and the overload and in this case the red wire goes to the overload, (white component).

Rob R for Model Number KSRG25FKSS01

Hi! Hi.. I have a KitchenAid KSRG25FKSS01. Symptoms: Click. Compressor goes on. 5 seconds later Click and compressor stops. Repeats cycle every minute. Reading forums I gather I may need to replace the relay or related overload? Parts #12 #13 and #15 in the diagrams look like they might be the right ones, but I don't know which to order? I opened the back and detached the white block on the left side of the compressor (didn't detach wires yet). It easily unplugged when pulled to the left after clipping the ziptie that held it on. The block just came off (looks like three "prongs" on the back, and a white, black and red wire going to the front of it). I just can't tell which replacement part to order.. some of the pix online look like they're multiple smaller parts, not the big white block that I took off. Help?

Hello Rob, The compressor starting device kit 8201786 would be the correct kit to buy. The small overload and the relay that is not encased in the white box are the ones that you will need. You will also need to use the wire that comes with the part. This will connect to the small connector to be able to connect to the large connector on the relay.

Hello Tamara. No, 8201786 is the correct kit. The wire clip will only install one way and is not needed for the unit to work properly. It is only there to keep the starter from falling off during shipping and transporting the unit.

Hello Jleonar1. If there is a black box over yours, you will use a flat blade screwdriver and pry down on the black box to remove it from the unit. Then pull the start device off the side of the compressor. Make sure the power is disconnected before touching the unit. If there is no black box being used, then remove the wire clip securing the device and pull the device off the side of the compressor.
