Kim August 12, 2015 for Model Number KUDP01FLBT1 My kitchenaid dishwasher is working, but the start button gets stuck sometimes. The cover over the top has film broken over a couple of buttons. I have a home warranty and had appliance guy out. He said it needs new start button, and new panel. He is goign to ask home warranty but thinks they will deny because film broken. If they do, and i expect that with warranties, could I repair myself? Would I need control panel or interface? Also I dont see a start switch offered? Thanks!
1 Answer Hello Kim. You will need to disconnect the power to the unit. Then remove the screws securing the inner door panel. Remove the inner door panel and remove the cover off the control board. Remove the ribbon cable from the control board and remove the screws holding the control board housing in place. Next remove the screws holding the control panel in place. Steve C December 28, 2012 for Model Number KUDP01FLSS0 My buttons are cracked, so I need to replace the panel. I also have a hard time getting the start button to engage. Press, rock, press harder, roll around... finally it takes. Is that also a panel issue, or do I need to replace the user interface? Once up and running, it runs fine. All of the other buttons function fine. The unit is installed level.

But we have also experienced difficulty with the start button. Is it likely we'll need to replace BOTH the panel and the underlying circuit board with the power button on it?
1 Answer Hi Andy. This is totally up to you. The old saying remains true mostly. If it isn't broken then don't fix it. Yes, agreed the panel replacement is part # WP8531267. Remove the lower kick plate and make sure that the unit is level from side to side and front to back . This will insure door switch alignment so you can see if it will start the board correctly. Usually more times than not the unit not installed properly will ruin door switches and door seals. So, just either buy both initially and replace them one at a time. Jon H. June 05, 2011 for Model Number KUDPO1FLBT6 The plastic covering is missing from my control panel and you had to push the start button several times to get it to start. Now it won't start at all even if you push the button fifty times. The cycle and heat lights time out before you get the start button to work.

Jm April 18, 2011 for Model Number KUDP01FLS0 The top control panel seems to work fine, except the START button. The plastic is cracked over the start button and I am worried some moisture got in.
