Kevinb November 05, 2011 for Model Number mdc5100aww my dishwasher was installed recently, it was working fine. now it will fill with no interruption then when it is ready to wash it will only engage for 2 seconds then stalls for 30 seconds then repeats the same issue. I tried heavy duty same. then I tried to drain and it does the same, stays on for about 2 seconds then shuts down and will repeat this process about every thirty seconds. the lights on all buttons work. I unplugged the motor and heard it click to try to engage then just shut down.
1 Answer Kevin, Before you replace the control board, check and make sure there are no loose connections inside the electrical junction box, located behind the lower access panel/kickplate on the front of the dishwasher. If we have a loose connection there, it could cause the symptom you described. Thanks and Good Luck Read More...
David September 22, 2011 for Model Number MDB6100AWW Some of the buttons on the front of the dishwasher do not work like the Light Wash or the Drain/Off button. The Normal Wash button does work. Is this the part I need "Part Number: AP4114872 Made by Whirlpool"?
1 Answer Hello David. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the control panel 6-915427 is bad and will need to be replaced. Hope this helps. Read More...
Bob K. September 21, 2011 for Model Number MDB5100 Could a faulty part No. AP4114872 cause a dishwasher refill immediately at the end of a drain cycle before dishwasher shuts down or goes to the dry cycle?
1 Answer Hello Bob. Yes, if the control assembly WP99002823 sends power to the water valve, then you will need to replace it. However, if there is no power there and the valve does not shut off, you will need to replace the water valve WP99001359. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Jim Z. August 09, 2011 for Model Number MDB5100AWB Could I replace this part easily ? could you give me a brief description ?
1 Answer Jim, You should be able to, it's a bit difficult but doable. Remove power to the dishwasher (that's the most important part) You may want to remove the front panel first) open the door, remove the screws across the top of the inner door panel and the two(2) upper screws on the side. Lift up and out on the control panel exteriorand roll it forward. Remove the interior control cover panel(it's a snap fit) and disconnect and label the harness and wires from the original control board, and remove the control panel assembly.Remove the control board mounting screws(2) and remove the control board assembly. Reverse the procedure. Thanks and Good Luck. Read More...
