Charles April 16, 2013 for Model Number wed9400su The first problem the motor would not run. Using the maintenance sheet that came with the dryer I check the main motor winding and the start motor winding and both of them read 1.8 ohms. I have replaced the motor and now I'm getting a F01 error code could the motor going bad have damaged the control board. Do I need to replace the control board?
1 Answer Charles, Yes it is possible that a bad motor could have caused the control board to fail. The F01 indicates a primary control failure and states to replace the machine control assembly. Read More...
Rob November 07, 2012 for Model Number mede300vfo Dryer is 4 yrs old. Dryer will not start when start/pause button is pressed. I removed the tech sheet and went thru all dianostic test as outlined ;dryer passed all tests. The dryer works motor runs, heater works, door switch tested ok, thermisters, etc. but when you return to normal mode it doesn't start! By the way the when entering test mode dryer showed a F30 code which is obstructed air flow. I took the vent pipe off and ran the dryer in test mode and had good air flow. I am baffled. I think an electronic board issue, but I don't know which board is defective? Any suggestions?
1 Answer Hello Rob, This sounds like the electronic control board WPW10174745 has a bad relay. The other board is a control circuit and this one is operating circuits. While it could be either board, this is the more common to fail in this manner. Read More...
Sharon D November 06, 2012 for Model Number WED9200SQ! My Whirlpool dryer keeps getting a F23 code. The thermistor has been replaced and main thermostat. Dryer still overheats and gets a F23 code. Repair guy says main control board not sending out any amps. Will a new control cure it for good and how hard is it to repair myself? I have waited since 10-20 for this be be completed. They say they ordered the part but not it yet.
1 Answer Hello Sharon, There are 2 thermal fuses on this unit. One is on the duct assembly and one is located on near the heater assembly. Thermistor [AP3919451needs to be rechecked to make sure that it is not blown. If it is then you would also want to check your dryer venting to ensure proper air flow. This includes the blower wheel. The blower wheel can get lint on it causing it to not pull the moisture out of unit. Read More...
R February 15, 2012 for Model Number MEDE300VWO I also was given two different part #'s, which one do I need if the error code is F01 and the check lint trap light blinks. I cleaned the lint trap and impeller, and all the exhaust line. Unplugged for an hour and tried again same problem. Do I need AP4514565 or AP4373582. and how hard is it to replace this part? Do I need specialty tools
1 Answer R, Your failure code (F 01) and post description would indicate you need the primay control board WPW10174745 . Heres some help : 1. Unplug dryer or disconnect power. 2.
