Mike April 08, 2011 for Model Number WGD5840SWO The coils were tested with multimeter and came back with 1240 ohms on 2 prong and 3 prong 1-2 was 1350 and 2-3 1910 1-3 560 I thought those were OK readings. Where should I look next The thermostats are as above.

Mike April 08, 2011 for Model Number WGD5840SWO Dryer heats up first few minutes then wont relight but igniter does glow. Solenoids were checked and were within parameters given also High limit thermostat checked showing 0.1 kilo ohms suggestions I ordered parts before I had the meter available not sure I ordered right stuff.

Dan April 07, 2011 for Model Number Whirlpool MOD # LGQ957KQ0 Ok I installed the new igniter and I now get heat (THANKS!), but the dryer doesn't turn off now. There is a small black part on the inside of the back wall of the dryer, I noticed when I had it apart from the other side, there is only one wire connected to it, but there seems to be two terminals. I looked for the other wire but didn't find it. It is mounted behind the lint shoot (looking at it from the back with the back panel off). Is this the temp sensor or the humidity sensor or something? Could that be why it doesn't shut off? I'm very glad it at least works but would be much happier with it functioning fully. Thanks for the help so far. Dan

Dan April 04, 2011 for Model Number Whirlpool MOD # LGQ957KQ0 HI I bought this part package (AP3176214) but did not receive the illustration 15. I figured out where the piece without the red strip goes, but don't see where the piece with the red stripe is located, or the jumper cable. My dryer runs but I get no heat. Including half of this part I have also replaced part #AP3132867 & #AP3045874. I'm beginning to suspect maybe I bought the wrong parts??? This is a gas dryer. Please help. Thanks!
1 Answer Hello Dan. Check and see if your getting power to the igniter 279311. The fuse with the red strip is not for your model. All the other parts are. If there is power to the igniter, but it is not glowing, you will need to replace the igniter. Hope this helps. Read More...
