David June 19, 2011 for Model Number WGD6400SB0 When you first start dryer igniter lights up and coils open gas valve and burner lights after a minute the burner shuts down, igniter will relight up but burner won't fire. I have replaced the coils. Exhaust vent is clear and have good exhaust flow. If you open the door and close it then hit start it repeats the process above.

Jason May 09, 2011 for Model Number 110.74942300 I asked the previous question about the high limit thermostat. You recommended replacing the high limit thermostat and checking the cycling thermostat as well. I ordered both parts and installed them in my Kenmore Gas Dryer. It worked great...for one load of clothes! The first load was nice and hot. The second load was back to the same problem of taking two cycles to dry one load of clothes. I have no idea what to try next. Do you have any idea what part needs to be replaced? Thanks!
1 Answer Hello Jason. Check and see if the high limit blowed. It should read closed for continuity. If it is blown, you will need to replace the high limit W11050897, and check for a clogged or kinked vent. Also check the blower wheel on the dryer and make sure it is not clogged, and the dryer vent inside the dryer is clear. You can test this with a multi-meter MA-DM1. Jason April 09, 2011 for Model Number 110.74942300 Our Kenmore Gas Dryer produces low heat, but it takes two full cycles to dry one load of clothes. I'm guessing the High-Limit Thermostat is broke (Part # 3403140). Is this a good guess? The lint screen and trap are clean. The exhaust duct is clean and not kinked.
