Sam August 10, 2012 for Model Number Kitchen Aid Dishwasher KUDM01TJBT0 Hi, I have kitchen aid dishwasher. Only Heavy cycle and Delay Hour buttons stay on, all other buttons do not light up or work. Cancel/Drain button used to work but it also stops working. Any suggestion which electronic part needs repair or replacement? Thanks!
1 Answer Hello Sam, You need to replace the control panel WP8270226 for black, WP8270227 for white, or WP8270228 for biscuit. Read More...
Walter J August 03, 2012 for Model Number GU1108XTLB0 The dishwasher stopped emptying, so I figured it was the pump. Took it out, tested it by connecting to wired plug. Put it back in, re-installed the dishwasher, and it worked fine for about a week. Now it won't drain again. Could it be the control board malfunctioning? Dishwasher is fine otherwise, hate to replace the whole unit.
1 Answer Hello Walter. When the unit does not empty, you need to test for power to the pump from the board. If there is power there, but it does not empty, replace the pump. If there is no power there replace the board. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Joane July 30, 2012 I have a whirlpool Acubake gas range. When I use the burners and turn the oven on, I get a power failure message and the oven shuts off. When the oven has been on for a while I get a power failure
1 Answer Hello Joane, This sounds like a poor electrical connection or a bad breaker. I would check the receptacle and range cord and the breaker before going anywhere in troubleshooting the range itself. The range cord should be checked at the terminal block,(where it bolts onto the range). The cord prongs should be inspected for burned spots, which are indications of a bad receptacle. Anything that indicates a point of heat such as discoloration, melted insulation, black "arch" spots, are suspect. If the unit is hardwired, (meaning no receptacle), the junction box should be opened and the connections inspected for burned wire nuts or discolored split bolts. If no bad connections are located, the clock assembly is the first on board component to be suspect. A power interruption is the only thing that will cause your issue unless the circuit that senses the power interruptions is at fault. Read More...
Al July 24, 2012 for Model Number 665.17369301 I noticed some smoke coming through the door handle of the dishwasher, when I opened the door, the dishwasher would not shut off. Cancel worked, but had to push a second time after drained to stop. Pulled the control board after securing the circuit breaker and found significant scorching. The terminal for the white/red wire at P6 pulled off the board with the connector. I didn't find any shorts to ground on any of the wires. What else besides the control board should I look at? By the way, I've had the dishwasher for 10+ years without any problems.
1 Answer Al, The P6 terminal (wht/red wire) is the heater element circuit(power/voltage out) You'll want to check the wiring to the thermostat and heater element for loose connections, corrosion etc, causing an increase in the amperage draw. You may want to test the resistance of the circuit. At the control board, disconnect the P6 connector and the white wire on the P7 terminal, across the two wires you should have a resistance reading of 10 to 30 ohms +/- 10% if all's OK. Tom L. July 17, 2012 for Model Number KUDR01TJWH0 I just replaced the electronic control with one from you because the normal light was blinking and this seemed like the most likely problem. It didn't correct the problem. When I was installing it, I noticed that the old board had a pin for the a yellow wire on my unit but since the wiring diagram that came with unit doesn't show the wire I installed it anyway. I have checked continuity and resistance on all the components and they are all as they should be. I have tested the control panel as best I can but it seems as if the lights in the system mess up the values. In any event, when I have the test meter across the appropriate terminals and depress the corresponding button the resistance drops to about 2500 ohms from over 50,000 ohms. I'm out of ideas! Can you HELP?
1 Answer Hello Tom. The blinking light is an error code for the control panel WP8270229 is bad and will need to be replaced. Read More...

1 Answer Hello Gerry. With the unit in stand by mode, no lights on, press HEATED DRY, NORMAL, HEATED DRY, NORMAL, within 6 seconds and the unit will start. Let it complete the cycle and the code will be cleared. Read More...
Mona July 09, 2012 for Model Number KUDI01TJBL0 // part WPL 856543 I installed a new control panel, no lights came on. Does this mean that the dishwasher is kaput or that possibly the new control panel defective? OR does the whole front panel needs to be replaced? Or should I give up??????? Thank you.
1 Answer Hello Mona. You need to check and see if the thermal fuse 8193762 is bad on the unit and needs to be replaced. This will cause the issue you are having with the unit. You need to replace the wires with the fuse kit. Read More...
Chuckdish July 08, 2012 for Model Number Kitchenaid KDUR01TBL0 I have kitchenaid KUDR01TBL0 and it just stop working. The only lights that come on are the "quick cleanup" and "energy saver dry" buttons, nothing else turns on. Is it the control board or control panel?
1 Answer Chuckdish, You most likely need a control panel / keypad assembly WP8270229 " STUCK KEY: If the control detects that a key is stuck in the depressed position, dishwasher operation will be suspended and the control will flash the light for that key until the condition is corrected. If a key without a light is stuck or multiple keys are stuck, the control will flash the light for the Rinse Only/Quick Rinse key." You can reset the control board after the repair "Pressing the following option keys in the sequence shown will either start the Diagnostics Cycle or turn on the Rapid Advance feature for stepping through customer selectable cycles: HI TEMP SCRUB, AIR DRY, HI TEMP SCRUB, AIR DRY Or SANI RINSE, AIR DRY, SANI RINSE, AIR DRY." Gav July 08, 2012 for Model Number kudio1ilwh5 My kitchenaid dishwasher fried its electronic control board. the red and white wire and the brown wire in particular seem to have been ground zero for the problem which resulted in a lot of smelly plastic smoke. is this likely to be the board itself, or is it more indicative of problems elswhere in the machine?
1 Answer Gav, It's most likely a failure in the control board WP8564543 and replace the thermal fuse as well 8193762. Also check the brown wire to the fill valve for a short to chassis ground. Thanks Read More...
Tony July 07, 2012 for Model Number part WPL 856543 Installed the new control board. nothing lights up.Now what?
1 Answer Tony, did you also check or replace the thermal fuse kit 8193762 (if you have one, you forgot to include a model number). If the fuse is "open" there is no power to the control board. Read More...
