Paul, Yes, based on your post information, you have to recheck the resistance of each keypad ribbon " To test an LED function: Confirm that the LED turns on during the “Display Test”at the beginning of the Diagnostics Cycle (see Diagnostics Cycle Time Chart, NOTE 5)." If you followed the instructions Lbelled "Checking Keypad Operation" on the tech data sheet, then you will need to repalce the control board WP8564543 . Thanks

My Kitchenaid dishwasher stopped working and the normal and cancel lights began flashing. When I reset the washer by shutting down breaker for 30 min +,There were no lights flashing and I could run the dishwasher with no problem. Sometimes I also reset the panel by alternatively pressing hi temp scrub - hi temp dry 2x. When the dishwasher completed its full cycle and was done the normal light stated flashing again and if I hit cancel, the cancel light began flashing too. I can make the unit work again by following my procedure above. Any thoughts on what needs to be replaced. Thank you.

Hello Lotus. You need to check and make sure the ribbon cable is clean and dry and is installed properly onto the control board. If not, it will cause the issue you are having.

hi. have whirlpool DW. started rinsing all by itself, then frozen control panel. replaced panel with 8564543 per your website (order #2801332 - came in 2 days - Wow!). appeared to work first night, next morning frozen panel again and tub was full of water -so it did it's own rinse cycle again. called customer service, told me to post a question on line - did it in repair forum, haven't received an answer yet. Current panel status has a blinking normal light and blinking rinse light. Can't do anything else. Please help, tired of washing dishes in the sink. :) thank you!

Our dishwasher originaly started by itself and was locked in a rinse cycle, then finally crashed. I replaced the control board 8564543 (from appliancepartspros.com)and when I powered back up, it acted all funny and 1/2 the digital readout didn't work and the cancel button didn't work. Unplugged all the connections and started over...perfect! but got up this morning and once again, it's done it's own rinse cycle (water still in the bottom), two dashes shown on the display, and green lights shown on "normal" and "rinse only". Nothing responds, it's locked up. Any thoughts? thank you.

Allan, The "P4" is the number of the terminal and is usually "stamped" on the control board, just above or below the terminal. The "Y" would usually indicate the colr of the wire that attaches to the terminal on the board, in short, there would be a yellow wire attached to the P4 terminal on the control board. Based on the wiring diagram for the model number you supplied, the P4 terminal on the control board will Not have a yellow wire attached to it. Thanks

Robin, With all the lights working, we can presume the door switches and thermal fuse are OK. That leaves the keypad assembly WP8270224 or control board WP8564543, and most likely the keypad " WON’T RUN OR POWER UP - No operation - No keypad response - No LEDs or display > Loose connections in dishwasher power up circuit or between keypad(s) and control. > Check resistance of all connections in power up circuit to control. Check connections between keypad(s) and control. " Thanks
