Ingrid, With the unit not finishing the cycle and the lock on and cancel blinking then this would most likely be a control board issue.

Rose, While we do not have the differences between the 2 boards, the most likely difference would be features on the unit. Unfortunately you can not switch one board out for another.

Hello Charles. Check for clogs. If none is found, then it sounds like the drain pump may be bad and need to be replaced on the unit. If the impeller is loose, it can cause this issue.

Hi There, I have a Kenmore dishwasher and i've found that it has the same control board as the Whirlpool models. Recently i noticed the "pots and pan" button will not come on at all. It's has been working fine most of the time and all the other buttons seem to work and light up, No buttons are flashing. But now when i press the start button, i can hear the click,..but the dishwasher won't start it's cycle. Is it the control board or something else that needs replacement? thanks Michael.

I have been having trouble getting my dishwasher to start, so I first replaced the control panel (no switches included, just the panel and membrane keys). I have tested the keyswitches with a meter, and all 11 seem to be functioning properly, so I just replaced the control board. When I power back up, the CANCEL LED is blinking, and I can't get anything else to happen. I've tried a High TEMP Scrub/Energy Saver Dry sequence to reset the control, but no change. Have you got any other suggestions?

1 Answer

Andy, Normally when there is a light above a key that is flashing then this issue would be caused by a faulty Keypad.
