Bob M for Model Number KUDL031TSS2

My circulation pump motor doesn't run. I checked the impeller and it turns freely with the chopper. I checked the winding resistance and both the run and the aux windings are around 6 to 7 ohms. It doesn't smell burned. I checked the capacitor and it is 23.7 uF. I measured the voltage to the motor during wash cycle and it is 120 v. It hums lightly and gets very warm, but doesn't turn. Even though the measurements all seem good it looks like I will have to replace the motor. I just wanted to know if there was anything I could be overlooking. Thanks.

Bob, It looks like you are on the right track. If the units pump is not turning when there is 120 vac applied to it then the issue will be the pump and would need to be replaced.

Matt P. for Model Number ADB1600AWW1

Have dishwasher in a rental, tenant said last several loads have come out covered with dry soap. Ran through a cycle today and watched it's operation. Unit starts, fills with water, dispenses soap and runs what appears to be normally with the "wash" indicator light lit. Unit continues to run what seems to be a normal duration and shuts off, but "clean" indicator light does not come on and dishes are covered with a heavy soapy residue. All water seems to be filling and draining properly. Unit does not appear to be going through any type of rinse cycle. Trying to determine which electronic part had gone bad, seems like there are only two. Thanks

Hello Matt, You will need to run a service diagnostic cycle and note the fault code that comes up. This is fully explained in the tech sheet that is behind the kickpanel of the unit. To invoke the Diagnostics Cycle, perform the following key presses or actions in less than 6 seconds while in standby: Heated Dry ? Normal ? Heated Dry ? Normal Invoking Service Diagnostics clears all status and last ran information from memory and restores defaults; It also forces the next cycle to be a sensor calibration cycle. Calibration cycles begin with a “sensor check” to determine whether the dishwasher has an OWI soil sensor. If the control detects an OWI, it forces two rinses to occur prior to Final Rinse (to assure clear water), then calibrates the OWI during the final rinse. If flowmeter is operating correctly, the control will turn on the Clean LED when flowmeter counts 3 or more pulses anytime during these intervals.

Kevin, Try replacing the Control Panel WPW10254842. You have an issue in the keypad(s) or keypad ribbon, causing the control to shut down and need to be reprogrammed.

Stanley G for Model Number MD87749AWB1

I have a Maytag type 577-0, mod MD87749AWB1. All of a sudden, when I push the cycle select buttons on the control panel, they do not light up. If I push the start button, I get normal cycle, high temp wash, heated dry. This is the cycle we most frequently use. I can select rinse only. And once I push the Start button, all lights seem to function normally. But can't select heavy or light or de-select high temp wash. It seems to run through either normal wash cycle or rinse only correctly. I tired to lock and unlock the panel buttons (hold down the Heated Dry button) and turned off the circuit breaker for a minute, then back on. No affect. What's up?

Stanley, The most likely cause for the unit to have the touch pad not working would be a faulty keypad. It may be getting the signal but not allowing it to terminate the selection.

Maytag Model # Mdbh969aww for Model Number MDBH969AWW

Hello, My question is about the flashing lights on top of the door which I assume is the 'control panel'? The light for 'normal wash' is constantly flashing along with the 'cancel' lamp. I have gotten the lights to stop blinking, however they reappear after a wash cycle is attempted. I dishwasher is inoperative but will occasionally start a wash cycle, only to stop a few minutes after starting. A majority of the time all or some of the buttons are unresponsive when selected and will flash intermittently or all the time. Does the control panel need replacing or is something else amiss and causing this? Thank you and I look forward to your reply. Keith M.
