My dishwasher is roughly 6 years old; in Nov 2014, the hi-temp fuse blew; this restored the washer. It returned to functional ability however for the last two months regardless of setting from light to steam clean setting the washer will stop midcycle after 45-50 minutes of cleaning. I have run the field service without error several times (or at least it gets to the point that it shuts off, similar to what it does when washing--yet no visible error code from the display). I have checked the door, the lower fuse, the pump, and wiring. All have congruence and no visible signs of damage. The electronic control does make a very light humming sound, yet no signs of scaring or damage to the board. The drain hose is clear and the heating element gets hot however I have not tested the resistance of the element. Is this a control board problem or something else I can check before biting the bullet. Thank you in advance.

Mediumgroove, Based on the information it would appear that the control board would be the cause for the failure. The control board part number is WPW10285180.

Ken, You will want to put the unit into a cycle and check the drain pump for 120 vac when it is supposed to go through the drain. If there is 120 vac then you will want to replace the drain pump. If there is not then check the wiring between the pump and the control board. If the wiring checks ok then the control board would be defective. These are the only components that would allow drain.

Jim, It's most likely an "open" fuse W10258275 . Turn the power off and check across the two terminals for a "closed" circuit. You can also check for 120 VAC across the P6 and P2 terminals on the control board. if the fuse is "closed" or you have the voltage at the terminals, then replace the control board WPW10285180. (be careful performing the live voltage checks at the control board.

Laurie for Model Number MDBH969AWS1

Our dishwasher is very screwy. Sometimes it will run a normal cycle and be fine. Other times, when we are waiting for the drying cycle to finish, it will start washing all over again. If we are not there to catch it, it will just keep rewashing. Another thing that has been an issue is that if we start it and we want to add something to it right after we start the cycle the machine gets completely messed up and we can't get it to restart without walking away for a while and coming back to it. There are times when we come to the machine and multiple lights are blinking and the machine is stuck. There is no consistency and we never know if it will work or not. Are these symptoms of a particular part, or should we be looking to replace the whole machine?

Laurie, With the type of issue that you are having this would be a faulty control board on the unit.
